Chastain best for Colton

The voting citizens of Colton feel that Mayor Chastain's accomplishments have not only been totally acceptable, but commendable. Full Story

Zamora seems like the incumbent. He has worked for the city longer than Kelly has been in elected office. Plus Zamora has been an elected official on the school board longer than Kelly has been in politics. He also ran his wife for office to protect his job with the city.

In his last school board race Zamora 60% of the voters voted for someone else. Zamora is not well liked on the school board because of the way he ignored the community with his vote for the name of the new High School. He was also one of the supporters of Harry Doc Earvin a few years ago. You remember the crazy principal at Colton High that was so bad that thousands of kids walked out and all the national news media converged on Colton. Zamora totally lacks judgment and he is really arrogant.

Makes me wonder why the voters of Colton would want him as a mayor. He sounds exactly like the kind of out-of-touch professional politician that we all like to complain about. DO NOT VOTE FOR ZAMORA

I wonder how much this guy got paid to write this stuff. Seriously funny stuff. He should be on stage somewhere in Vegas.

Chastain has done NOTHING for us residents. She blames all the problems of the city on the past and yet she has been in office since 1996!

You don't really believe that Bud wrote this letter, do you? You can bet that he was asked just to sign it. If you ever watched him on T.V. during the council meetings, you'd know that the writer and Bud is not the same person. Probably a political consultant writer for Kelly Chastain. Most of it is a lie anyway. I hope the general public doesn't fall that B.S.

Amen Bud! People of Colton...please vote for more than who can get out the biggest billboard campaign signs! Many put up without permission....and he rides around in a truck with his own signs?

Kelly is smart, sophisticated, caring and knowledgable. Voting for change for change sake? We have seen what that has led to nationall the past two years. Keep Colton on the upward path and vote Kelly tomorrow!

Z Bad you are right on the money and 100% correct. Voting for Zamora and associates would be a huge step not only backwards, but also right towards bankruptcy. Or, like city of Bell?

Colton is hardly on the way up under its current leadership. Reserves have been stripped and the current council is so afraid the people might find out how bad it really is that they no longer post the warrants that they are required to approve to pay vendors. Try to get a copy of the City Manager's contract and see how far you get. These folks are in hiding and rightly so. Time to open up the City of Colton and let the light shine in.

Elect those who have devoted their lives to Colton and who are rooted in families that beieve in service to the public. Vote Zamora, Gonzales, Toro and Ramos-Reyes for a positive future.

Just like the San Bernardino Sun, I think it is important to endorse all of the candidates who offer a real vision for the future. You may recall that the San Bernardino Sun endorsed Zamora, Gonzales, Toro and Ramos-Reyes as well. The scope of the change that is needed involves all of Colton, not just the separate Districts.

The REAL "Will of the people" spoke loud and clear as Mayor Chastain was trounced convincingly by David Zamora by nearly 20%. Colton residents turned out to vote in large numbers to show their displeasure with Chastain's failures and the intrusion into politics by Coltons Police and Fire Unions. I concur with your comments about certain council members hiding past wrongdoing by previous city staff. Hopefully this huge election mandate for Mr. Zamora will move Colton into a new era of openess and transparency.

Once again Colton has demonstrated how comfortable it is with No Accountability. Mayor Chastain and all the other clowns that held their seats on the council are also comfortable with this policy. I see comments about how Colton has bounced back, and how stable things are now. Nothing is further than the truth. Mayor Chastain fell asleep at the wheel as did the other council members. They tell us that ex-employees were responsible for the 9 million and change they forgot to add into the budget, and before you say I'm wrong it was 5 million, walk into City Hall and ask questions as I have. Experience the suspense as you wait for a good honest answer, but do not hold your breath. All you get are blank stares, shrugs, and smart remarks from anyone claiming to help you.

Run along Colton Residents! Be content with your Mayor and Council that hasn't skipped a beat in this whole ordeal. Somebody needs to be responsible for this mess, and unfortunately Ma'am Mayor the buck stops with you.
1.ACT LIKE YOU GIVE A DAMN!

2.Open the Library's full time!

3.Reactivate the assistance programs that help thousands!

4.Put the workers that had been laid off due to your screw up BACK TO WORK!

You hit the nail right on the head. Chastain... no oversight of her staff, then refused to accept any responsibility for the mess she allowed to happen. Fortunately the residents of Colton saw through her propaganda that everything is wonderful in Colton and held her accountable for her failures.
