Didn't imply that you were a liar. No way.Actually it WAS at his confession and I saw father separately. I am not a liar. I was not looking for penance for him. He is the one who told me because he himself thought it was odd.I was not asking for anyone's opinion, I was merely saying Good Riddance to Father Phil!! Divorce is a lot easier than working on your marriage I guess. Good for you. I guess Father Phil took the easy road too. I am not judging you or Father Phil ...just saying GOOD BYE!!
You didn't make it clear that it was your husband who told you he did not receive a penance from Fr. Phil in confession. From your post it seemed like you meant your husband should have gotten a penance during a joint counselling session. No, it's wasn't easier to get a divorce than work on my marriage..why do you think I went to a priest for counselling? But after years of black eyes, bloody noses, bruises and "other women"...it was divorce or take more abuse and heartache and have our children abused and/or psychologically damaged for life. It appears you are assuming that you did the right thing and I just bailed.
