Boy, I am certainly glad these whiny progressives were not in charge after WWII. The reconstruction that was done would never have happened because they would have stomped their feet. Oh wait, perhaps not if a Democrat was in charge because the Democrats are perfect and NEVER overspend or ignore the Constitution. Ooops, must be Obama isn't a Democrat? Spending up 17% the last 4 years and now drone strikes are legal on U.S. Citizens on U.S. soil without due process??? My, my. Sure glad it isn't a Republican in office.

Here's one we can blame on Republicans, which ought to have the teabaggers livid. Where's the outrage?!
Iraq Report: U.S. Spent Too Much Money On Post-War Reconstruction For Too Little Results
Shortly after the March 2003 invasion, Congress set up a $2.4 billion fund to help ease the sting of war for Iraqis. It aimed to rebuild Iraq's water and electricity systems; provide food, health care and governance for its people; and take care of those who were forced from their homes in the fighting. Fewer than six months later, President George W. Bush asked for $20 billion more to further stabilize Iraq and help turn it into an ally that could gain economic independence and reap global investments. Which I might add, was appropriated on a credit card which the American people are now being asked to pay up.
Overall, including all military and diplomatic costs and other aid, the U.S. has spent at least $767 billion since the American-led invasion, according to the Congressional Budget Office. National Priorities Project, a U.S. research group that analyzes federal data, estimated the cost at $811 billion, noting that some funds are still being spent on ongoing projects.
To date, the U.S. has spent more than $60 billion in reconstruction, most of that requested by the Bush Administration.

Can you also link to the votes of Pelosi and Reid opposing the funding? Thanks.

I repeat. Where's the outrage? We're not talking about post WW2 reconstruction here. We're talking about Iraq and Afghanistan. In the case of Iraq, it was a full scale U.S. lead invasion and the justification by Bush and his neo-cons was that Iraq had amassed huge stockpiles of WMD and was planning to develop a nuclear arsenal to be used against the U.S. Remember that Really? And what was determined in the months and years after we invaded that country and destroyed much of it with respect to the WMD and Sadamm Hussein's nuclear weapon capabilities?

Stop with your bull shit and finger pointing to Pelosi and Reid. Who gives a shit? Who was in charge then? Who orchestrated it? Who sent his SOS to the U.N. to lay it all out? Who signed the invasion orders along with all the other crap? Billions upon Billions of dollars were spent and wasted. That's the point chimp? Got it? and the other point is .... where is the outrage now?

Obviously you don't give a shit except when it impacts you..... When your Union job dries up and you are standing an intersection with a card board sign saying you are homeless and need food and a job, I won't give a shit either......

Drone strikes are legal? Remember the hours after 9/11 when there were questions and debate as to whether or not military aircraft had been alerted and dispatched to intercept the aircraft that slammed into the Pentagon, the Towers, and the field in Penn? Recall how everyone wished there were procedures in place in the event such an act would occur in the future? Remember when many people were clamoring that more needed to be done to prevent such a horrific act from being carried out, including use of the military to destroy aircraft even innocent Americans in them BEFORE such an act could be carried out? Hypothetical: What if it was learned that Americans, either naturalized or natural born, intent on causing much death and destruction were about to attack Americans on our soil, and this was known by the government to be imminent or in progress? Don't you think a decision should be made to prevent it? Or would you rather have someone dispatched beforehand or after the fact to read them their rights?

The only outrage you should be asking JimBob is why you're earning so little at your part-time jobs at the Dollar Store and Subway,
while toiling so hard and for so long with so little hope for anything better.
In your world, that should be the only thing you should be outraged over because nothing else in your life will ever matter more.

Believe the F-16 may have been Air National Guard if I recall correctly. Regular Air Force is charged with protecting the DC area. Constitution is about rights........

oh are you saying sovereign state's rights supercede or something to that effect? or that an order to send Guard craft up and out to destroy the threat, would be that of the state soley with no involvement of any kind by the Prez or the Pentagon or other higher ups?

Good luck!

I asked a simple question and that's the response I get? Wow.

When Obamacare passed the R's didn't vote for it pretty much across the board. So if it works or fails it is a hit or a miss for the D's and Obama. Same thing should apply to the stuff overseas. If they were "Bush's wars" then the funding for the wars should have been only R's.

"Billions upon billions of dollars were spent and wasted" by Pelosi and Reid as well as the R's and D's who approved of those expenditures. And look up your representative's vote, because if your representative voted to fund the war, so did you!

Come back when you finish 7th grade.

No you didn't ask a simple question. As usual you asked a question strictly to be provocative.

If you really want to challenge the voting record of who voted for the funding of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq then integrity dictates you provide the proofs. That is the way civilized debate is done. And it is inconceivably stupid to expect the opposing side to provide the proofs they are wrong and/or inaccurate. Try your tactic in a court room and you'll lose your case, if not have it and you thrown out for trying it too many times.
