Really, quite judgemental of you. Do you know this to be Fact? or are you just shooting your mouth off again with your Christian attitude.

For the record, Betty Ford did a lot for this country and totally deserved the funeral that she got. The Ford family has done a lot for this area and deserve this.

And you know it's these same posers who will cry foul about 'speaking ill of the dead' when someone on their team buys the farm (I still remember all the phony outrage from the left when Senator Kennedy died and a few people had the nerve to mention Chappaquiddick). As usual, they maintain one standard for themselves and a separate one for others, hypocrites that they are.

Sandy, the whole "pot meets kettle" cliche is really tiresome and overused. Can't you come up with something that's not only more original, but actually funny?

Okay Fred, tell me, are you looking for something funny or sarcastic? Funny or mean?? Funny as in funny for a sick mind or funny like Bill Cosby was funny???? Tell me!

Funny AND sarcastic. Slash and burn, baby. We know you got it in you. You normally do a great job of mocking the communist left-wing kooks on here, so we need you to double-down and come up with some good material.

Sorry, the "communist left-wing kooks" on here are boring. SSDD. If you know what that stands for, then you know why I don't bother anymore. They have nothing new to offer, just the same old tired "It's all Bush's fault". As for slash and burn, now that's not very polite is it Fred????

Do I care that she died? She was a great lady and was to be admired for her courage. Those that call her a drunken old hag are completely ignorant of her life. She publicly acknowledged her breast cancer and ultimate mastectomy at a time when society considered it impolite to discuss female or male body parts in public. As a result the Betty Ford Breast Clinics were established and without a doubt have saved many, many lives. She also went public about her addiction to pain killers and acoholol. She acquired financial backing to help set up her famous Betty Ford Rehabilitation Center in California. She took her negatives and turned them in major pluses. To quote our Gov..she was indeed and EXTRAORDINARY woman!! Her contributions to society were far beyond those of most first ladies. RIP beautiful lady.

Look, I am sorry that the lady died, and I'm sure she did some nice things to help alcoholic people, but all these people making her out to be some kind of saint - please. I did not agree with her support of abortion on demand and her other very liberal views. Some of the arrogant posters on here try to impose their fascist beliefs on everyone else, saying that people who have died should not be criticized. She was a public figure, and if she wants to be outspoken, then she opens herself up to disagreement and criticism.

I think I must have missed the post that nominated Betty Ford for sainthood.
ALL human beings are a mix of good and bad. I'm sad for you if you can only see the good that someone has done with their life if you can first only agree with all their viewpoints and positions.
I also did not agree with her viewpoints on abortion OR drug use but I can still see the excellent contributions she made to society in spite of that.

I wonder how people will react years from now about our current first lady when she passes.
What will she be remembered for?
So far, all she's done is spend taxpayers money on extravagant vacations, and stuff her face full of ribb's while telling us we need to cut back on our spending, and watch we we eat.

She supported both abortion and recreational drug use. I think she should have apologized.

Please back up with facts your statement that she supported or advocated recreational drug use. Also, her stance on abortion was more pro-choice than pro-abortion and Sharon, if you are indeed a woman, you should be thankful to her for what she did for the Woman's Rights movement.

She has been quoted as saying that she wouldn't be surprised if her children had smoked marijuana and if she was their age, she'd probably try it, too. Sounds pretty supportive of recreatinal use to me. Of course, that was during a time when she was addicted to drugs and alcohol herself.

I think the poster below your post has adequately backed up my statement on Betty Ford's support for recreational drug use. Just Google Betty Ford and drug use and you will have a wealth of sources to back this up.

As for her support of abortion, she was a huge abortion supporter. This is also a fact. As a woman, I fail to see the link between abortion and the so-called "Women's rights movement" as you have labeled it. I don't consider giving women the right to kill their own unborn child as having anything to do with "women's rights." Women who do not want children already have reproductive freedom - it's called abstaining from sexual activity. Why should a child have to die just so that you can satisfy your sexual urges? As a taxpayer, I refuse to pay for your irresponsible behavior.

I don't interpret that paraphrase as advocacy for recreational drug use by any stretch. But I can see where most of the Marijuana rights advocates on this forum would think so.
