Remember this?

“Let me be exactly clear about what health care reform means to you,” Obama said at one rally in July 2009.“First of all, if you’ve got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you.”

The U.S. individual health insurance market currently totals about 19 million people. Because the Obama administration's regulations on grandfathering existing plans were so stringent about 85% of those, 16 million, are not grandfathered and must comply with Obamacare at their next renewal. The rules are very complex. For example, if you had an individual plan in March of 2010 when the law was passed and you only increased the deductible from $1,000 to $1,500 in the years since, your plan has lost its grandfather status and it will no longer be available to you when it would have renewed in 2014.

These 16 million people are now receiving letters from their carriers saying they are losing their current coverage and must re-enroll in order to avoid a break in coverage and comply with the new health law's benefit mandates––the vast majority by January 1. Most of these will be seeing some pretty big rate increases.

THAT IS IF THEY CAN SIGN ON AT ALL!!
------

There isn't a liberal on this site that would bury their stupid pride long enough to admit Obama lied, even when the facts are shoved right in their face - that much is clear. But I'm guessing there are a whole lot of honest voters now receiving these kinds of letters who will.

Nothing new here! Obama is the most transparent lier. He has been doing it since day one of the running. It's the same old, same old. It's not much different than the poledancer taking it in the rear by Blue balls. Some things you just can't change.

And after shutting down the government over their refusal to budge on Obamacare, now they're proposing exactly what the Republicans wanted...a delay in the personal mandate.
The libritards now own this train wreck fully and those who tried to slow it down are now looking a lot better in the eyes of voters.
2014 will not be kind to the libritards in the voting booth because of this, especially if they allow this debacle to continue. People are willing to overlook a lot of things for the sake of their party but once it starts hitting them in pocketbook, party loyalty goes out the window.

Exactly right. If you have health insurance that meets the minimum standards, you can keep the one you have and the Drs you like.

Catostrophic or other b.s. insurance policies that screw policy holders AND tax payers don't make the grade -- and rightfully SHOULD NOT -- for good reason. If you want to take advantage of govt. subsidies then you have to buy a police that meets minimum standards.

Go bark and moon and chase your tail O-no-balls. The vast majority of Americans will benefit from PP/ACA, despite minor delays during the roll-out.

What are the minimum standards? I'm a guy so do I need to have mammograms covered? What about birth control or maternity? Yes, I got the note. As of December 31st I'm off my plan or kicked off rather. Now I have to shop the 6 plans that they're offering me ( I mean five because one is only available to individuals under age 26) at a higher price I'm sure. Of course, you don't have a problem with it because you're one of the myriad of leeches who'll benefit from my hard work. Makes me sick. I say we just tell Obama and his socialist minions to go to Hell. Better yet, I have something else I'd like to say although I can't say it without encryption.

Ignore Bobby/Pipester Batch. They don't know anything truthful about the ACA and when confronted with the truth, they either ignore or resort to profanity and name calling.

There are 10 essential requirements. Find out what they are, compare it with what you pay for on the open market and quit your complaining. For most people, policies will have more coverages and cost less than they do now.

One of the requirements is Mental health and substance use disorder services: This includes behavioral health treatment, counseling, and psychotherapy.

That's the one you'll benefit most from.

Care to point out the part in Obama's quote that said anything about minimum standards? Oh, that's right...you can't because he didn't. He said if you like your plan and you like your doctor, you can keep them. Period. You're the one who doesn't know squat about ACA, pippy.

Sorry, Polly, I don't recall Obama citing any special circumstances or restrictions when he made his "if you like your doctor, you can keep 'em!" lie.

Its in the LAW a@@hole, always has been. Nothing in the law has been changed regardless what Obama may have said or didn't say. Get over it.

I'll fix the quote for you. Obama says, "If you have health insurance and you like your Drs and you like your plan {and your plan meets the minimum requirements under the law} you can keep your Doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you." There you go. How's that?

You get a 6-week extension to get your fat azz signed up. Do it or die in an emergency room. If you don't want to end up in a paupers grave, advance pay for your funeral and just STFU.

When Obama made that statement (2009), the law wasn't even written yet, moron. Just another lie from the left.

You have that turned around pipesmoker. If there is anyone in this room who needs psychiatric treatment it is you. And if you believe that the costs will decrease while the benefits increase then you are hopelessly retarded. You can't trade the same amount of silver (in weight) for the same amount of gold. It's that simple. Liberal economics at its best.

40 Million people, many of them young and healthy, who are uninsured for whatever reason, will be buying insurance on the exchanges. That -- A@@hole -- along with subsidies for people who qualify, will keep help keep premiums low and affordable, even when coverage benefits are expanded. Anyone with a 7th grad education should understand what insurance is and how it works.

Well, that explains your issue, since this law is not now nor has it ever been about insurance. It's about taking from the haves and giving to the have nots. And when your wallet starts crying because you are one of the haves, perhaps you will finally understand. I doubt it, but since I am an optimist, I can always hope. And one more question there pipester/bobby, just who in the world do you think is going to pay those subsidies???? Oooopssss, forgot and now your head is going to explode since logic total escapes you!

They're not buying you retarded dolt! They're signing up for Medicare by a margin of 5:1. Don't you even read? Do you even attempt to study a topic outside of the liberal pond-scum media? You won't find any truth there. They're too busy covering Obamas back because if he falls so do they. Good bye viewers, goodbye market shares. And here are the ten "minimum" requirements under DisasterCare:

1. Ambulatory patient services
2. Emergency services
3. Hospitalization
4. Maternity and newborn care
5. Mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment
6. Prescription drugs
7. Rehabilitative and rehabilitative services and devices
8. Laboratory services
9. Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management
10. Pediatric services, including oral and vision care

Now riddle me this; what the f**k do I need 4 and 5 for? I'm a male and I'm not mentally ill.(don't waste your time with jokes with that one).

And number 10. They add oral care (aka as dental insurance) to the mix? Most plans never covered dental as it was a separate add-on in most cases. People are losing their insurance plans left and right and still you think there will be a silver lining huh? I'll add this too, the Democrats just lost the next generation of elections and this law gets repealed in 2017. That's if we don't have armed insurrection first.
