How would you have time to look at all those details? This sounds like a set-up to me!

I am very sorry if this is true. But this guy looks just like the one that was used in the made up attack at the park by the girl jogger?????

I pray for the girl. We all feel we are safe at home but it is not always the case. I pray she can become a stronger person because of it. God be with her...and may he get what is coming to him.... Justice needs to take place!

I was thinking the exact same thing....there is now way that if someone came into my place and messed with me that I would be able to get all those details. Doesnt York Creek have buzzer entrys? My sister used to live there a long time ago and they had them in. You had to either be buzzed in or use your key!
Something is fishy here and I really hope its not fake!

I can't believe that most are saying stuff about how the girl could get a good detail of the man. I think you should be praying for the girl. Just because one person has to ruin it for others about not telling the truth, don't judge everyone like that. I'm just glad to hear that she wasn't injured more than that. keep her in our prayers

I know a girl who was raped and beaten so very bad over the time of maybe 3-5 minutes . The poloce did there investigation ,rape kit , interviews etc .
This happened to her after she closed the placed she worked at . It was 3am and out in a very rural area with no lighting in the back of the business she worked at . The parking lot for the employees .

The police at first did not belive her because she could remember details that was remarkable . Hair color , Tatoos , fingernail length , facial hair and the ear ring the guy had .

Before they got the rape kit results back . The police arrested a guy from the very discriptions above . The investagator could not figure out how she had seen that fellow in that situation .
When you are fighting for your life , You remember everything and see everything right down to the smallest detail . You adrenalin is going and your senses are hightened .
In the military I was invivolved in over a 100 battles and I remember everyone of them . Day and night . Who was sweating and who was not . I remember what I saw ,heard ,smelled , tasted in the air and felt every nick on my weapons grip and stock .
So think as you might and use your opinion . Until you have been in that situation , fighting for your life , whether it is war or assault of any type . Shut-up !
BTW . The guy that assaulted my friend . He had shoulder length hair . The ear ring was a Black colored cross about a 1/4" by 3/8 . That is what caught the police officers eye at a gas station 2 days later . The DNA from the rape kit confirmed that they had the right guy . A 2 time offender.

I agree completely with Big Mark. She was in her Flight, fright, fight mode, and she paid attention to every detail, because it would make it, or break it rather any one would believe her and she could save her life. Those doors may buzz, but sometimes they don't always shut completely. He may have had his eye on her, knew what time she came home, and was hiding close enough to run and grab the door and open it, or pretend he was visiting someone in that own complex. Maybe he watched what apartment she went into, then knocked on her door and made an excuse to get in. Maybe she took self defense classes and they told her to look and watch for every detail and keep a clear level head and do what you can to get a full description.
I don't believe she made something like this up. She didn't give her full name, first or last, her address, she is old enough to know better and know what could, would, and does happen. Just because that 16yr old cried wolf, doesn't mean every girl/women will. It's so sad that this happened. And it's a crying shame that this one 16yr old girl who cried wolf, has now made others think someone who has had the same thing happen for real is crying wolf as well. That is why many women, young and old don't report rape as much as they should, because people can't believe that one can be so descriptive and it's attention seeking action. Don't judge until you know the facts. I hope this girl has support from friends and family.

Thats right you have to be buzzed in. This girl is crying wolf. If she had screamed or made any type of noise. You can hear it threw the walls. It probaly her boyfriend. Now she wants to get even at him. I used to live there i know these things. get real

drew, I'm glad you know all the facts before the police or anything else. There are a lot of factors in this case that aren't released. And please tell me how it's always the woman's fault? And yes, I've lived in apartments before, and just because you hear screaming and banging doesn't actually mean someone's in trouble or your neighbors are going to get themselves involved. In fact, you are more than likely to live by the ones that WON'T. And how do you know that she DID'T try to get attention from the neighbors? None of that information has been released.

I know from experience that the door buzzes and many people just buzz it so they dont have to keep hearing it. I often had to buzz people in and many times I wanted to but someone beat me to it. I would watch kids and when they feel asleep someone would buzz the door.
I'm no expert but it could have happend so try not to accuse her before we find out any different. I applaud women who come forward. So many women are raped everyday and only a small percent tell anyone. Later when someone accuses him then others feel more safe and they come forward. As a woman we are always making more out of things if you damn men would keep it in your pants we wouldnt have to be terrofied everyday.

What makes anyone think that the buzzer system works like it should? I don't live at York Creek but my boyfriend does,so I spend enough time here to know that security here is not a high priorityhere. Today May 19 Iwent to take out some trash and the door was blocked open with a big rock. How safe is that???? That was after the alleged assault. ANYONE could have walked through that door.I threw the rock on the ground and closed the door. My boyfriend said that the door is propped open all the time. He has moved the rock 5 times.Wake up people. You have to do what you can to keep yourself as safe as possible nowdays. There are so many sick people out there. And they look just like you and I!

It almost sounds like the police dont believe the story either because the other day on the news the GRPD was saying how most rape cases happen with the victims being someone they know. This one was "unusual" for the department he said.
Whats that supposed to mean?

Awilda~ That is what I was trying to get at in my previous post, I wasn't throwing any accusations! My sister lived there, & those buzzers may not work all the time, or people put stones, bricks, wood pieces to keep the door open. Either to move things in/out, or to keep the hall ways ventilated because it gets hot in there, or so their guests don't have to be buzzed and can walk right in. So this guy had many ways to get in. Not all assaults happen exactly the same or as usual. I believe because of the false claim the other girl has made, who was a young teen that cried wolf, she didn't have injuries, or a hospital report. This woman does! Now women are going to have a eye brow raised at them if something really does happen and the investigation will drag and the perpatrator will continue to roam becoming more of a threat to women every minute, hour, daily. I hope the police don't sit on this and another victim is claimed by this guy.

York Crekk is a joke. There buzzer doors are for a fact broken. Even the news showed walking up and pulling them right open. Most of their parking lot lights are not working so it is really dark. My brothers car has been broken into twice and stereo stolen. Both times he complained to york creek about the lights, they told him he could rent a garage space for a fee but other than that they wouldnt do anything special. The fact that so many people live there you would think the management of york creek would be responsible enough to have hired some security to drive around. They built the massive complex they have a responsibility to their rent paying residents to help protect them.

Perhaps he knew her but she didnt know him... he couldnt have been watching her for a long time.. or even living in the same complex and she just never took notice.
As for screaming and banging to alert neighbors- whos to say he wasnt covering her mouth or threatening her with greater bodly harm if she didnt keep quiet?
Buzzer systems in apratment complexes are a joke. As mentioned several times above, people prop doors open, buzz strangers in, etc. All it takes is for a bad person with bad intentions to see an opening like that, and in a split second, he is in and no one is any the wiser.
And why in the world would anyone suggest she is lying because she remembered significant details?
Come on! I know if I went thru something like that, I know I would do my darndest to get as many details as possible so they could have a better chance of catching the guy. Not to mention, some people just have great memories and remember those small details... in any situation.
It is unfortuante that some women lie about things like this. However, that is by far NOT the norm and those women should not create the tone for all women who have been attacked.

Getting into any building at york creek is easy as pie
just wait in a car outside any building next to the door, when someone gets "buzzed in" just follow them.
The buzzers are some stupid kind where if you just
touch the door button it rings for over five seconds or more no matter if you only tap it.My guests are inside and downstairs at my door and the stupid buzzer is still going off!!!how safe is that???

York Creek is ghetto and is a haven for criminals. Virtually all of the armed robberies on the north side of Grand Rapids can be traced back to York Creek. Look at the armed robbery of the McDonald's in Comstock Park the other day - it was traced back to York Creek. Terri Lynn Land is a slumlord.
