Rasmussen reports the number of republicans has reached the largest number recorded since 2002 when tracking began, while the number of democrats has slipped. Here's more ...

[...the number of Americans who consider themselves Republicans jumped nearly three points in August.

During August, 37.6% of Americans considered themselves Republicans. Thatís up from 34.9% in July and 35.4% in June. Itís also the largest number of Republicans ever recorded by Rasmussen Report since monthly tracking began in November 2002. The previous peak for the GOP was 37.3% in September 2004. See History of Party Trends.

The number of Democrats slipped to 33.3% in August from 34.0% in June and July. Those two months marked the Democratsí best showing in 2012. In February, just 32.4% described themselves as Democrats, the lowest level ever measured by Rasmussen Reports.

The number of voters not affiliated with either major political party fell to 29.2% last month. Thatís down two points from 31.1% in July and the smallest number of unaffiliated voters since 2009...]

Obama is going to win. Paul Ryan, Akin, Clint Eastwood, and the other lying/women hating Republicans can be thanked for that in advance.

They are desperate to find something, anything to cling on to. As bad as things are they should be winning this race for president by 15 points or more. Instead they are losing and will lose bad in November. Republicans should then be forced to walk around with hats with big L's on them so we can identify them and have pity on them.

Amazing how the libs crawl out from their mole holes and are brave enough to blame just the Republicans for the low rating in Congress. What laugh you people are! The Congress and Senate have had low ratings for at least the 10 years. The Senate hasn't done an honest day's work in well over 2 years and the majority there is whom??? As for the big L on the hats comment, perhaps you would be willing to wear one when your side loses? Didn't think so, instead it will be more and more whining and crybaby 2 year old antics just like we saw when Bush was President. You people are so flipping predictable it's not funny.

I just reported the Rasmussen poll. Rasmussen has long been considered one of the most reliable. So, if libs want to question that group's accuracy good luck to them. Until the Topix-Addict Glee Club liberals do some research and provide a more reliable statistic that counters Rasmussen's they can bury their heads in the sand and shout angry little insults all they want. I'll just keep kicking them in the pants with facts.

Maybe, but here's some reality for you to consider: Liberals said the same thing you just did in 2010. They got their hats handed to them in the mid-terms. Liberals again said the same thing in the Wisconsin governor recall massacre in 2012, right before they got got their angry little butts kicked again.
That's reality, Levi, not just "my team is better than yours" insults, which is all you and your Topix-addicted liberal glee club have at this point.

Have many times did your mother drop you on your head when you were a baby? Must have been more than a few. The Republicans are not responsible for the last four years you stupid dolt! I guess you're one of those Obama cockworshipers aren't you?

this is all you needed to say.

Regardless of anything else, your party should lose by your own admission, as they are inept, and undeserving of another term. Which just goes to show how incredibly stupid the left is as they will vote for Obama anyway.

Thanks for filling is in on that.
Some might have thought that it might be the 450 plus bills passed by the House that just sit in the Senate, on Harry Reid's desk, that will never get voted on, because the demoncrats refuse to even look at them.
I'm just so glad that you gave us this vital information.
How many people in the Senate are members of the "Tea-Party"???
Do you have a link?

Depends on who you poll. The people who put those Tea Party-supported members in place aren't giving those members a 12% approval rating. They're giving the inept republican career politicians and every single member of the democrat party a low approval rating. Likewise, liberal pussies like yourself have whined like babies about the Tea Party ass-kicking you received in 2010 and predictably give those new congress members low approval while continuing to bury your cooch in the sand over the inept democrat members currently failing to do anything remotely helpful for the economy or jobs.

If you don't like the facts I provided regarding the rise of republicans and decline of democrats, find something factual that refutes it. Otherwise, deal with it like an adult for a change and accept that your liberal Utopia isn't as wonderful as you had hoped.

Hello Everyone....if we could stop yelling at eachother briefly....Something has happened, i feel it's important, but can't find any conversations about it on Topix....The VA has stopped funding of service dogs, for war vets, suffering with PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)...i know through several friends, that this has been a very successful program, and it's costs are relatively low....some of the fine dogs are actually donated and trained free thru prisons and animal welfare orgs....Sorry, i realize this is off topic, but it just gets me, and i don't know what to think? I know we need to cut expenses, but this one hurts.......

Is there a liberal left who can provide a coherent and factual debate on a subject? We don't even expect a civil debate at this point because that clearly is an impossibility in the divisive atmosphere of the Saul Alinsky liberals.

I posted a poll by Rasumussen providing evidence that more people consider themselves republicans and less consider themselves democrats now than four years ago. Instead of simply accepting it for what it is, or providing a compelling argument against, what I got in return are nothing but personal opinions, most of which are idiotic and rude, including Go Blow's predictable diversion and Rval/willard's trollish critique on Hotair ... completely irrelevant to the Rasmussen poll.

There were at one time a small but intelligent group of liberals here who could debate a topic with something more than kindergarten-level insults and diversionary tactics, let alone flinging the race card every damned post, or even worse, going into full-blown insanity tantrums like St. Stephen's embarrassingly panty-wadded posts of late.

The left's own words on this site can only lead to one conclusion - Four years of Obama has devolved them into Useful Idiots capable of at best grade school smartass one-liners and St. Stephen's cyber pussy "do something bitch" hissy-fits.
