Yes, they went under due to bankrupcy. I heard from one of my neighbors that the new owner paid something like $100,000.00 for the place. HUN??
It was a neighborhood landmark, along with Sweetlands, and lets not forget the old A & P grocery store.( thats where the dollar general is now).
The old owner lived near us and we always thought they had pretty good burgers. Though, it was the chilly that got us to go back.
You know, plainfield ave is starting to look more like an business store museum.

Just found out they are reopening within the next week - tentatively Feb 13. Old owner basically flaked out, started cutting corners, closed cuz he was losing money. New owner is focused on bringing back the old Fat Boys, only much cleaner. It will also be no smoking. WOO HOO I'm so glad it's back!

Fat Boy used to have good hamburgs a year ago, but then the owner changed over to those frozen meat patties (that someone else sells them) and I would find lots of grizzle etc in the meat. Now they are out of business. I want that neon sign. lol

Yes, the place was always so dirty inside, I hated to have to use the bathroom. It was always like it hadnt been cleaned in two weeks. I was surprised the health dept never got after them. Andy switched to the frozen pre made meat patties. I never liked their hamburgs once they did that. They used to make a dang good cheeseburger and fries when the Greek guy owned it who also owned the fish market next door. Prices were good too.
