Let's take away the subsidies the farmers get too then, if I have a bad year in my business the government doesn't bail me out. Let's close our bases in Europe and end ridiculous military spending like the F-35 JSF. Let's cut NASA's budget and privatize certain programs. Let's end corporate welfare and penalize corporations who move jobs overseas because of said welfare cuts. Let's close loopholes that allow billionaires to hide their earnings and avoid paying taxes on them. Finally, let's legalize marijuana and tax the ever livin crap out of it, it's obviously not a spending cut but it is new revenue--which is just as effective as cuts.

You conservatives like to bring up Obama phones but that type of spending is miniscule when compared to wasteful spending on defense, handouts to the rich and all the other things you people consider to be 'hands off'. If you're serious about spending cuts then get off your takers/givers soapbox and realize the poor make up only a very small portion of overall spending.

Also, was'nt that phone program started before Obama took office? And, pointed at securing access to police/fire for the predominatly elderly poor?....Did'nt House republican's defeat a democratic bill, designed to cut the inplace taxbreaks for corporation's outsourcing expenses?....How about the republican's defeating legislation, that would have ended subsidies/taxbreaks for oil companys? Which would have saved $4 billion dollars...BTW, the Space Shuttle program, everyone blamed the President for ending, could have survived on $3 billion.....

If we cut off the support for the uninformed voter you will end up with squat as you are as uninformed as anyone I have encountered.

The Republican tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 were TEMPORARY WITH AN END DATE. Letting those tax cuts expire as they were planned to IS NOT A TAX INCREASE. That is just one point that proves you to be an uninformed voter.

MILITARY SPENDING IN NOT RIDICULOUS for the facts it is what keeps are a^%$^% warm but for people like you who dont serve but bitch about it dont have a clue esp overseas, see if you served you would understand we have an obligation to protect all esp are americans that travel overseas ect ect ect ect, i do agree on cutting the welfare or revamping it so it is used only for a helping hand, i also agree on cutting welfare ectect for illegals that come across are borders the wrong way, i also agree in getting rid of all the people we house in our jails and prisons who are not americans and make other countries filp the bill which is in the billions, i half to laugh when you say hand outs to the rich, so what does the 50 percent that dont even pay into fed tax getting esp the so called people that collect ss,disability, ect ect ect that have never put into the system but get a check, and the poor you actually think only make up a little, i think you really need to check what we give out and spend compared to other spending, we spend more on the poor then we do medicare non war spending for the military and i think a couple of other thing combined we need to fix the system before you ask for more money, and are military need everything esp since we are paying for china military to grow, see when are military is getting smaller and everyone is getting bigger, i find that to be a problem, but from familys like yours who dont serve this country, what do you expect from you people lololol

Let's see the defense budget is, and I may be off a few points,12% of budget.... Entitlements is what %? I am not for subsidies and NASA has been cut so much that whole communities have been wiped out economically because Obama had no interest in the agency...

What part of the lower rates expiring and the RATES INCREASING isn't a tax increase? Really SIB? I thought you were smarter than that. The tax rates go up, I have less disposable income to spend..blamo...a tax increase. You progressives are so busy trying to convince yourselves you don't fall within the tax increase line, that you are blind to what Obama is actually looking to do. I believe the term is "ostrich syndrome". Careful, Obama is going to put the screws to the entire country while you have your head in the sand.

The term "Bush tax cuts" will soon be forgotten.
They were set to expire anyway's.
But since Obama is dead set on letting them expire, in the future, the fact that he let them expire, they will be known as the Obama "Tax Increase".
Obama, and the democrats have failed for four years to even come up with a budget.
Yet they keep blaming the GOP for everything.
Even though the GOP and Boehner pretty much caved in with with all of the consessions asked for, Obama went on TV tonight claiming that the GOP is the problem.
Over the fiscal cliff we go,........
Hey,... tht might be just what we all need to happen. We all have to pay someday.
The Obama's are on a taxpayer funder $4 Million dollar vacation in Hawaii, like Obama say's,..... let the middle class pay for it!
And if you dont like it!
Like go Blue say's,....go "F" yourself!

Okay, seeing as you're such the fiscal expert; you invest $xxx in the stock market, you lose $xxx; then the market rebounds bringing your investment amount back to where you originally started. How much have you gained?

Apples and Oranges and you know it. Didn't say I was a "fiscal expert". It's logical SIB. As for your "question" you and I both know you are at zero and starting over. Not the same thing when the tax rates are increased and the take home pay is decreased. You know it and are deliberately clouding the picture, much the same as Obama and the politicians are doing. In 2 or 3 years, people have adjusted to the take home pay. Once the taxes are increased due to the rate increase, the take home pay goes back down and once again, the economy will be harmed because people won't have the funds to spend. the unintended consequences will once again happen, seems to be a progressive line of reasoning constantly. They are very comfortable with saying "oops, we didn't mean for that to happen. Oh well, we will "fix" it again." Yeah, right.

Here is one. Do you spend $3 for every $1 you bring in to your household? Would you? Does that make sense to you?

No it's not (clouding the picture). My metaphoric example is a mirror image.

The Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 were a temporary reprieve at the time they were implemented and well known. Plus the didn't produce the result said it would....create jobs. So it's time.

My point in all this is; this temporary tax reduction HAS NOT boosted the economy. We still have a continuing war and a past war that the Republicans made no provisions to pay for that has unquestionably increased, and will continue to [increase] the national debt. With the Republicans screaming over the national debt they want to load the reduction on those less able to afford it. All the while continuing to increase the bank accounts of those who have advantaged the most from the temporary tax cuts. The health of an overall economy is the ability of all those in it to contribute to it. Not just those who have been able to even without the tax reduction.

A very interesting article:
