This is what a real reporter does. He sees a FUBAR, hears an explanation that sounds like crap and goes out and investigates.

http://video.ap.org/...

Why did it take Henry Erb to figure this out? Where the hell were the WOOD weather folks on Saturday morning. Where were they on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday? Don't they have these NWS predictions available or were Terry and Susy just not willing to poop on the B93 promoters for some reason. They have become news readers, B93 just shovels the poop their way and they parrot it like good little birdies.

Now we know that the National Weather Service predicted river levels over the 13.5 ft. flood stage at 5 a.m. on Saturday. They increased the prediction to 17 ft. at 9:30 a.m. The NWS spokesperson says that they spoke to Ionia about the situation. So three hours before they started parking cars they should have known that lot was going to flood. Two hours before they started dumping gravel they knew it was going to flood quite a bit. Doesn't WOOD get NWS river level predictions?

B93 and Ionia have now fibbed and fabricated 2x about this situation. They have zero credibility at this point. I don't want to even hear a whisper defending these low lifes. They should be telling folks that they are hauling those cars out of there, getting appraisals done and giving every single one of those folks the value of the car and the car if they want it plus something for all the aggravation.

Now that we know the real situaion they should have provided these folks with rental cars on Sunday instead of spending time making up BS excuses for their gross negligence, indifference and greed.

So Pete, what you're saying is you think the situation was handled appropriately. Just kidding.

I agree with you - whoever (both in Ionia and B93) made the call to disregard the warnings should be responsible for repairing the damage.

Another interesting situation; How about refunding the 15.00 parking fee they took from hundreds of people who were then told they couldn't get into the concert? Not even close to the cost of a damaged car but it's still wrong.

I am starting to think WOOD's weather folks ought to throw in some money since they are in the weather business and missed the NWS river warning. They they spent three days shilling for B93 until Henry smelled a rat.

Clear Channel radio is refunding the $15 parking fee to everyone who parked in the South lot who's car is still there and they are also paying for the towing to get the cars out of the lot. That news comes from todays Sentinel Standard in Ionia.

Actually,They had posted flash flood warnings before the bash on Wood t.v 8. And others. So Iguess you can't really put the whole blame on others. And anybody who was not just born yesterday knows that the river floods constantly. Not only in Ionia.

Not EVERYBODY knows this...My husband was raised in the desert in California. The first time the river flooded and ruined a picnic we had planned, he seriously took it personally. It was so cute.(Much cuter and not nearly as dangerous as the first time he drove in an ice storm.)

Give me a break, WOOD was also announcing that the event was going on as planned with no warnings not to park by the river. Folks from out of town have no idea where the river floods especially if they are only in Ionia for this event and the Free Fair. They were directed to park there not only by the B93 people but by Ionia law enforcement. Would you think a cop was telling you to park in an area that was going to flood in a couple of hours?

Part of conducting an operation for profit is admitting when you FUBAR something up and coming to the window and taking responsibility for it. B93 FUBAR'd this big time. Refunding the $15 and paying for the towing is BS, not nearly enough. This "Personal Responsibility" crap is just insurance company and manufacturer association's PR for avoiding responsibility for negligence.

Why the hell aren't they hauling cars out of there today? The look high and dry in the photos, is the gound too wet to get wreckers in there?

That is a good question, why aren't they getting those rotted out smelly cars out of there today, the photos do look dry enough? Heck it is supposed to rain again, at this rate they may have to wait for the ground to freeze before they get them out.

Ding ding ding!!! Let's also not forget that SEVERAL announcements were made AT THE BASH that the river was rising. The last announcement was something to the effect of 'YOU NEED TO GET OUT NOW!'. These people had plenty of warning, and plenty of time to move their cars. They chose not to.

I wonder what they will do about the hundreds of people they took money from who were told to park miles away. The south lot was flooded by that time and they were still taking money from people for parking and the cops wouldn't let any of them in to the concert.I hope B93 can't ever do this again. I don't know if it's the radio station or the Ionia fair officials who are the bigger crooks!

BS, B93 can't have it both ways. They made no announcement till mid afternoon. They started dumping gravel at 11:30, it was too late then. B93 can spin this all they want, they are screwed on this one. They took a risk and lost, now they are whining and lying about what happened.

How's that blame the dam guys excuse holding up for them?

When my son heard the first announcement about a slight flooding problem affecting a few cars he went to check on his truck. He and his friends at this point were walking through knee deep water to get to the truck. He said he got out because of four wheel drive. Some cars probably would have made it out but he said by then it was too late for a lot of them.As I posted earlier people were driving through water to get IN. Officials were telling people it would be under control because gravel was being brought in to put on the exit road.I'm sure there were a lot of drunks not paying attention but people who were there have said there were a lot of people going to check on their cars and couldn't get out.
