By the way, with the snow and all the water we had melt over the weekend, where do people think that went. Slow Down! The rest of us want to arrive alive!

Winter driving conditions are not new in Michigan. ALL must drive at a speed NOT greater than would allow a safe stop ahead, considering vision, conditions, etc.- regardless of the speed limit. Stop trying to blame the weather on driver error!

I looked, and in Ottawa county it's I-196, not I-96. The road changes to I-196 on the north side of GR, which is not in Ottawa county.

I-96 does NOT change to I-196 north of Grand Rapids. I-196 branches off from I-96 north of Grand Rapids. I-96 continues on roughly northwest through Ottawa County past Coopersville to Muskegon. You have to look up in the northern portion of Ottawa County for I-96.

This accident happened at mile marker 19, which would be 19 miles southeast of Muskegon.

Ooohhhh... I forgot that Ottawa county goes so far north (feels like a goof.) Anyway, thanks, Taz! I take 196 alot, so I get a little nervous when I see that. Is anyone else confused by the numbers being so alike?

I see confusion all the time between I-96 and I-196, also US-31 and US-131. Every once in awhile I'll see a news story referring to one of them and a cross street or exit and go HUH??, and then realize someone got the wrong one.
