Just part of a very powerful letter....

"I write this letter, my last letter, to you, Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney. I write not because I think you grasp the terrible human and moral consequences of your lies, manipulation and thirst for wealth and power. I write this letter because, before my own death, I want to make it clear that I, and hundreds of thousands of my fellow veterans, along with millions of my fellow citizens, along with hundreds of millions more in Iraq and the Middle East, know fully who you are and what you have done. You may evade justice but in our eyes you are each guilty of egregious war crimes, of plunder and, finally, of murder, including the murder of thousands of young Americans—my fellow veterans—whose future you stole."

That is powerful, but what's your point of posting it? You do after all realize the war in Iraq had bi-partisan support from congress, right? You are aware Obama is continuing to wage his own wars, costing other equally brave soldiers' lives in the process even after promising to end these wars, right?
I guess maybe that letter could also pertain to Obama then.

Here's a relevant letter to the current president, that could only pertain to him. Granted it's not written by a dying war vet, but equally as compelling:

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike
Any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive
Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no
Visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth
Growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus
Don’t understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and ‘class’, always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned
Yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to
Publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail..

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the ‘blame America ‘
Crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style
Country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system
With a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer ‘wind mills’ to responsibly
Capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose
That lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of
Living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use ‘extortion’ tactics
Against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from
Challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider
Opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both
Omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything
You do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the
Limbaugh’s, Hannitys, O’Reillys and Becks who offer opposing,
Conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will
Probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Lou Pritchett

Every president has his decisions and character questioned by those effected by his decisions and influence. It's got to be hell sometimes holding the highest office in the world and being held accountable for every decision.

Interesting, Bush never blamed others for his decisions. Can the same be said for Obama?

Just more Assholery from you Oneal. Not surprising.

If you can't figure out the point of all of this, then you're completely out-of-touch with reality. Did you even read the article? Besides the poignant and powerful message in the service member's letter, did you take note of the costs of the illegal Iraqi war in both money and blood?

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz and the other his that administration who played a part in all that will be brought up on criminal charges before its all said and done.

Costs of Iraq war and what do we have to show for it?

Jason you will always be deaf, dumb, and blind. It is quite clear who the fool is judging by the responses of each letter. One is excepting of the opposite views with a counter letter. The other response is a belligerent fool running his mouth.

OF COURSE I READ IT. You however unquestionably didn't read the first line of my post, or any other part, or you would have realized your points were indeed addressed.

Whether or not you want to accept reality Bush went to war with approval from BOTH houses of the congress and the overall support of the country. You hair-brained radicals tried bringing Bush and Cheney up on charges and failed miserably, as you should have. No matter how many wet dreams you have about seeing Bush lynched it won't happen.

Bush invasion of Iraq was a bi-partisan, congressionally approved act.

You do realize Obama's own war tab, in money and blood, is still open - right?

To begin with, just because both of the parties bought into the lies used to get us into that war doesn't change the fact that that the entire war was a lie.

The rest of your drivel is simply a lame ass attempt at deflection.

Bush/Cheney lied - 4,400+ Died, 22,000+ wounded or maimed,$1.7 Trillion spent to date.$400 Billion in disability payments to those injured chasing a lie. It's projected that over their lives, the total cost for those disabilities will exceed $7 TRILLION over the next 40 years!

Congressional approval for going to war were based on extensive BOLD FACED lies by high levels of the Bush Administration. This has been well documented by numerous Congressional members of both parties. Many members of Congress have publicly stated that had they known that what they were being told by the Bush Administration as justification for war they would not have voted their approval.

Why don't you tell us how many other countries believed the same thing from their own intelligence. Saddam went through great lengths to make everyone believe he still had WMDs. He only allowed the UN inspectorate to go were he allowed them to go. If he allowed them at all. Their has been many reports of the great possibility that he shipped WMDs to Syria. Regardless of were they went. It is a fact that he had them and used them in the past. They actually did find some there, it was just in small amounts. If you research any of this the information is there. Try getting your news from something other than your Obama loving propaganda sites.

Well documented by who? As I stated, we where far from the only country saying Saddam had WMDs.

Here's what the British, one of our MOST STAUNCH ALLIES, knew and thought, about the blatant and extensive LIES Bush other high level officials in his Administration were telling the American people AND THE WORLD during the lead up to going to war.

"In July, 2002, what is called the “Downing Street memo” was written. This memo, publicly released in 2005, documented a meeting in which the highest levels of the British government discussed American plans to falsify intelligence for the purpose of supporting the invasion of Iraq. The exact text of the memo stated that —“Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy. The NSC had no patience with the UN route, and no enthusiasm for publishing material on the Iraqi regime’s record. There was little discussion in Washington of the aftermath after military action.”[3]"

If the UK, our foremost ally, knew this, what do you think our other Allies knew?

If this isn't reason enough for bringing Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld before an international tribunal for war crimes, I don't know what is.

That's the best you got. Some guy writes an article you side with so that's your proof! You agree with his opinion so that's fact! Lol!
" But the truth was that Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with al-Qaeda or 9/11 and he was distrustful of that elusive organization."
How would this guy know Saddam had nothing to do with al-Qaeda? And why would Saddam not trust them if he never had anything to do with them? Sounds more like Saddam had a bad experience with al-Qaeda. Anyway members of al-Qaeda were found in Iraq and they did have al-Qaeda traing camps there.

Because the whole thing surrounding the Saddam connection to Al-Quida, the WMD, and the Iraqi threat to the U.S.,and other countries, in fact the entire case for WAR have been THOROUGHLY investigated and found to be untrue and further that Bush and his Administration LIED to not only the American people but to the entire world. Furthermore the cost in lives and blood that resulted from this unjust war continue to this day and will for decades to come. If you really want to pitch a bitch about something that amounts to something you should try this one.

However, you're too stupid to see this for what it is. That is truly unfortunate, but its your problem not ours. You really need to take your crap somewhere else and find a job because you have way too much time on your hands.
