The statistics are backed up by footnoted sources. Have fun trying to prove them wrong.

You might want to look in the mirror when you talk about dumb SOBs so you can see for yourself what one actually looks like. Hello, dumbazz...if you commit a crime, whether you use a weapon or not, you aren't a law abiding citizen, now are you?
Since the cure for ignorance is education, let me give you a booster shot: http://people.duke.edu/~gnsmith/articles/myth...
Hahah you're funny. Kinda dumb too and naive :)

I'll repost this from another thread ... Have others but this should suffice for now.

Read it and weep

Myth: A gun in the home increases personal safety.

Fact: A gun in the home make homicide 2.7 times more likely.

http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/L-kellermann.ht ...

Summary

Keeping a gun in the home carries a murder risk 2.7 times greater than not keeping one, according to a study by Arthur Kellermann. The National Rifle Association has fiercely attacked this study, but it remains valid despite its criticisms. The study found that people are 21 times more likely to be killed by someone they know than a stranger breaking into the house. Half of the murders were over arguments or romantic triangles. The study also found that the increased murder rate in gun-owning households was entirely due to an increase in gun homicides only, not any other murder method. It further found that gun-owning households saw an increased murder risk by family or intimate acquaintances, not by strangers or non-intimate acquaintances. The most straightforward explanation is that the presence of a gun increases the possibility that a normal family fight or drinking binge will become deadly. No other explanation fits the above facts.

The facts were footnoted. Reference the footnotes (if you actually can figure out what those are) and then get back to me with your proof that they're wrong.

Footnoted doesn't mean they're facts. Who said anything about it being fact filled? YOU? In fact they aren't facts at all - just T-bagger flavored bull-shit. Enjoy chewing on it. I'm not.

LOL...what they don't tell you with those 'facts' is that most of the people 'killed' were intruders. Also, your 'facts' were pulled from a study (Kellerman) which is a classic case of a 'study' designed to show a predetermined result. http://guncite.com/gun-control-kellermann-3ti...
Of course, this from the person that automatically assumes that if someone is killed with a gun, it's a homicide. Moron. Worse...you're a delusional moron.

You better read Kellerman again. or that's right you don' know how to read ... LOL.

That piece of shit page you put up isn't worth the paper it was written on, in fact when I saw the background flag and who the supposed author was, I round filed it. Won't waste my time.

An interesting read but it leaves me with questions.
Is the study truely representative of the average home in America? Millions, if not Billions, of Americans have successfully navigated the household with a gun or multiple guns present with no problems.
In it's final result, using less than 400 people as representation of all of America seems incomplete.
We are a very diverse Country and it seems it would be rather hard to base a study on such a small representation or area(s) of the overall footprint we have here.
What that study tells me is that the odds you and it claim are probably true...if I live in one of those areas...but I don't.

I used it because despite the somewhat small sampling there were steps and numerous checks and balances incorporated into the case control methods. Flaws if any are handled very well and I believe it is a reliable study. Kellerman addresses the numerous criticisms of the study put out mainly by the NRA.#13 specifically addresses one of your concerns but there are others that do as well.

If you don't like this study there are quite a few others out there that reached the same conclusions as this one.

Here's another one I found interesting. I'm not familiar with any of the control measures used or the sampling but it essentially reaches the same conclusions as Kellerman. That itself is STRIKING. Its essentially a very interesting and informative interactive database. You can reset values and look at each state's stats/databases individually. Take at look at the results for Michigan.

You posted it using my name. That's what you do when you get frustrated or think you're funny. It wouldn't surprise me if you post comments under other Poster's ID or post with multiple IDs That's what you do when you don't have enough to do. I could do the same thing using your ID. You don't like me. That's too bad. That's why I've said more than a few times, Twerps like you should go play on the kiddies forums where you belong, either that or find something else to do. Topix isn't a job. You never have anything worthwhile to post here, just bull shit. So why are you here?

You can scream all day about how you don't like the site, or the links or whatever, but until you pull some facts out of your stupid fat arse to disprove them (note...disprove does not equal disagree with), we'll just note that you can't and move on.
