FYI
Rosa Louise McCauley Parks (February 4, 1913 October 24, 2005) was an African American civil rights activist whom the U.S. Congress later called the "Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement."
I don't think Rosa Parks won any gold medals for ice skating in the Olympics.

nor did she receive a nobel prize for her efforts unlike someone we know who efforted nothing!

You can take breaks??? Are you kidding me??? Unless you swipe your ID badge and punch yourself out for these "breaks", you are still on the time clock. You get 2 breaks and 1 lunch period. Judging by ALL your posts, you are taking advantage of Spectrum Health. Shame on you!!!

Always wondered that myself.

They should have called it Lyman Parks Circle if they really wanted to honor a local African American.
I actually wrote City Hall to do just that!
I still refuse to call it Rosa Parks Circle because it was an insult to our former mayor, who was a huge advocate for the downtown area back when it was dying.
To me it's just Monroe Center Amphitheater.
I liked the idea of Lyman Parks Circle when I heard it before. Still do. A statue is a waste of money.

Now that is a much better idea! Lyman Parks Circle instead of Rosa Parks Circle. Wonder if they were related somehow? Of course, aren't all of us related? We all go back to Adam and Eve.
