Kickass show! Opening band Volbeat was incredible, too. Who else went to the show?

My uncle was there Chad, said it freaking rocked!(his words) He said it was probably one of the best shows he had seen. So it sounded like it was pretty good.

VanAndel really needs to start booking some decent headliners...I don't think they'll survive too long on indoor rodeos

You're kidding, right? They've had some huge names. It doesn't get much bigger than Metallica.

No, I'm not kidding...So they bring in a decent headliner once every six months...Thats NOTHING like they used to do five years ago; The VanAndel is a great place to see a concert, there really isn't a bad seat in the house; That place should be rocking several times a month, like they used to do; Now when they bring anybody decent in the ticket prices are so high that they hardly sell any

Check out the opening band, Volbeat. Rockabilly doo-wop punk metal.

Here is their cover of Johnny Cash's "Sad Man's Tongue"

There definitely wasn't a bad seat in the house for the Metallica show. The stage was in the center of the arena. All concerts should be like that! I was sitting in section 124 row G seat 4. Awesome!!!

Oh, and that concert was worth every penny of the eighty-some dollars I paid for my ticket seven months ago. How much does one spend on drinks at the bar?$50.00? I would have paid more for my ticket, even.

Chad, you're missing the point...The decent headliners that the VanAndel has brought in over the past couple of years aren't anything like what they did several years ago; They've had several people give up their purchased seats there for that exact reason

I see what you mean. Your complaint is with the frequency, or lack thereof, of quality shows. I can see that.

Hello Chad, this might seem like a weird question, but I was wondering about the size/ spacing of the seats at the VanAndel, are they comfortable and roomy enough? If a large person sat next to you would they be encroaching on your space? Thanks for any input you might have.

Saw them back in the 80's and early 90's, you know, back when they frikkin Rocked?!?!?!

This Last album is a bit better. They kinda fell off and sold out after Master of Puppets.

Slayer still doing it though. Never pussed out and sold out.

They seemed roomy enough. As far as comfort, I couldn't tell ya. We were standing most of the time!

Metallica's set list was good. Songs off Death Magnetic, and the Black Album and earlier. No Load, Reload, or St. Anger songs at all. Great show. The crowd energy was intense!

Yeah, but have you seen the new and improved SOBER James Hetfield? Their performance was flawless.

I was a little kid when Ride the Lightning came out. I missed out on some good stuff in the eighties.:-(
