I want to be clear. I'm not wedded to every detail of my plan

Taken from his speech today and played on every major news network.

However just last week Obama hit Mitt Romney for the lack of specifics in his plans. Romney responded by saying that his plan was a framework and it was up to congress to agree to specifics.

I guess when you are that arrogant you cant see the obvious hypocrisy.

They don't want to see the hyprocrisy Chip. Even now, they are whining about lies and fear mongering for 8 years. We listened to 12 years of whining, lies, and fear mongering about Bush, but 8 years is a terrible burden for the hypocrites. They got who they voted for, you would think they stop whining.

Yawn......

The cliff gets closer every day and the best you've got is faux anger over the fact that he is willing to compromise?

Enjoy the drop!

Would you care to provide proof of that? Didn't think so!

The plan, which was agreed to by all of the parties was to setup a bipartisan committee that would strike a new tax plan and budget in lieu of an increase in the debt ceiling. Sequestration was only the penalty if the joint committee couldn't come up with the plan.

Would you care to venture a guess of which members ran away before the work was done? Didn't think so again!

He's not willing to compromise. He has already said tax hikes have to be a part of the plan or the country can jump off the cliff. So much for "compromise" and "working together". I hear another "we won" moment coming. You just love arrogance. Are you going to hold him accountable when the country goes bankrupt?

You have got to be kidding me.......

The entire reason for the thread was Chippy's attempt to show that Obama wasn't sticking to the very same topic that you are now claiming that he is.

If you are going to make an effort, can't you at least try?

I know you aren't this stupid, so quite playing like you are. On election day, Obama was in tears about being re-elected and how hard he was going to work for the people. Yeah, pushing the country into bankruptcy is really, really working for the people. Apparently the American public that voted for Obama can't read the dictionary and don't understand what the word compromise means. Hint: it doesn't mean "we won".

to hell with Bobby and all his dbag buddies that have been pushing us off this cliff for more than a generation. Give them what they want. Obama wants sequestration....he just got it. He doesn't negotiate in good faith. They'll be begging for Romney soon.

You too, Bob...are you too stupid to realize that this is going to impact you as well? Maybe you think your messiah is going to somehow exempt you?
Oh, wait...maybe you really don't have a job after all and you just sit in your mom's basement all day eating the Cheetos and KFC you bought with your bridge card.
I think I'm going to join those 47%ers...lose my job, get free stuff, get food stamps and sit around all day surfing the next and calling my friends on my free Obamaphone. I finally saw the light...it doesn't pay to be a conscientious hard worker. Much better to be a conscienceless taker.

Funny thing is,...Obama himself has never had a "plan" but yet critisized Romney's plan.
Get ready for the tax increases.
Obama's failure to come up with a budget is going to force the middle class to pay for all of his spending binges.

The point was that just like after the last election he went back on everything he said during the campaign.

The additional point being made was that he is not open to compromise if you watch the rest of his speech.

They just don't seem to understand that tax increases on the rich will be passed on to the middle class in some way shape or form. Also the super rich will find ways around it, I understand why people don't like it, but its reality.

Gubmint cheese, please...to go along with my food stamps and my Obamaphone!'Gimme, gimme, gimme' is my new motto! It works for 47% of the rest of the country, why not me?
I have seen the light...wealth is evil and success is a sin that the government punishes with the hearty approval of all the progressive kool-aid drinkers. I'm tired of being a producer...let someone else carry the load for a while.

More free stuff! Awesome! This is working out really well already! I don't know why I didn't see how awesome being a bloodsucker was before now! Now get back to work and support me any my other 47%ers! Those bridge cards don't pay for themselves, you know!

The point REALLY is that you had better hope that he doesn't stand behind exactlywhathe said during the election. You should also hope that your party realizes that standing your ground without bending isn't going to work.......

There is a large segment of society that seems to sufer from a mental illness that deems that compromise is the same as treason. Perhaps you and the rest of the tea party will get professional help before its too late!

yes and they are called liberals.

And as far as compromise is concerned, your team puts forth a plan and says take it or leave it...over and over not a compromising bone in their collective body.

Obama saying,'do it my way, give me whatever I want or I'll make sure we go over that cliff' isn't compromise, either. It's blackmail...but then, that's what progressives seem to think compromise means. Hope they enjoy the trip off that cliff because they're going there right along with the rest of us.
