She legally changed her name to DeeDee last year. My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family. She was a wonderful asset to our schools and will be missed greatly!

boy leave it to tv 8 to have a misleasing headline.'2nd grade teacher shot in head'--- You would think it happened at school. A better headline would be'Women shot, police investigating'. The fact she is a teacher does not seem to have anything to do with the fact she was shot. Drama queens at tv8 strike again.

Condolences for the family....please do not grant interviews to tv8....

My heart goes out to her family and students, and I hope whoever did this is found, tried, convicted and spends the rest of their lives behind bars.

Let me clarify. I've never called her that. She's always been Dar to me. I understand why she changed her name... though I moved away many years ago she'll still be my Step-sister in-law.

Our hearts go out to her family, friends and students. We can only pray that the investigation of this Branch County murder goes better than the last (Betty Jo Losinski) and they catch the KILLER instead of sweaping it under the rug. Catch him and jail him till his judgement day with the lord.

though what happened is hard to deal with, these petty conversations about depicting what her name is, those that knew her or knew of her, know that she was one of the most wonderful teachers at union city high. i had her in 8th grade english many moons ago. one of the most fascinating stories she ever told us was her meeting ryan white.
She was a very wonderful person. God rest her soul.
She was always one of those teachers that always got the point across so that it would stick with you for the rest of your days. i always remembered her. Though i wished i would have stayed in touch more, she touched many lives of the parents and students she dealt with on a daily basis.
Rest in peace Dar.
