They just don't see it, Shoeless. They are being manipulated far more than any of them even begin to imagine and they willingly let themselves be led along without question.
Now it turns out that Adam Lanza did NOT use an AR-15 rifle in the Sandy Hook massacre (as was originally reported)...he used 4 handguns so all this uproar over 'assault rifles' is based on misinformation at best to a calculated lie propogated to promote a political agenda at worst.

Thank you for a well reasoned addition to the discussion!
Hey man its just well regulated opinion if he had his way his storm troopers known as the CDF would be knocking down doors. Why would I hide my guns when I may need them?

<quoted text> No, I would prefer he be honest. In 2006 he said that raising the debt ceiling under GW was a "lack of leadership". How about some honesty and admit that raising it now is a lack of leadership on his part? Of course, in 2006 he was only a Senator, now he's the head honcho. As for your snide comment about the constitution, I would only ask this...so now you would ask that the Constitution be adhered to as written and not as interpreted by you?
Put it in context. Bush involved us in two wars without any attempt to make a way to pay for them. Instead he lowered the taxes...TWICE. And all that trying to let them lapse the way BUSH intended them to has been met with obstructionism from the right. And as it stands the right is still blockading all attempts to raise the revenue back up the way it was scheduled to be.

The way I interpret the Constitution is in line with what most lawyers would. Not just my opinion.

You forgot one statement, or perhaps it was deliberate? "And in keeping with the proud tradition of Barack Obama, there will be no acknowledgment of lack of leadership on the part of this administration, but rather, the continuation of blaming everyone else for the destruction he is perpetrating on this country." Nice, SIB, nice. Once again, the progressives in this country show that they do not intend to ever admit culpability in the debt issues of this country, but rather continue to blame others completely for the issues, all while exhibiting the rather "charming" traits of teenagers, "it's not fair and you HAVE to make it fair". Yeah, that about covers it.

Your entire attitude on this is akin to one spouse racking up debt and gambling away the family finances and the other telling them 'that's okay I'll get us out of this even though it will take the next 25 years of our life to do it.

I have not denied the Democrats culpability for the debt issues of this country. But you want to roll because they have done it in the past into this current debt crisis that is undeniably Bush's doing.

Talk about teenage traits? How about turning every word that denotes what you don't believe should be into a dirty word. Like fair. Do you really want to tell me you don't believe in fairness? When you gripe just as loudly as anyone else about the 47% of the population that doesn't pay federal income tax?
So then you think it's FAIR there are those who benefit from those taxes other people pay? To mention just two. I'll leave it to your conscience about what else people do that you believe negatively affects you directly and it not being fair. You gripe about lack of fairness ALL THE TIME. If your adulthood says there is nothing fair, why are you gripping so loudly?

If she doesn't, I will...at least not in the way that progressives define it: we can't keep score in little league because it wouldn't be 'fair' and might hurt someone's feelings to lose. If someone works harder and is more successful than you are, it's not 'fair' and the wealth needs to be spread around to everyone. We have to give minorities special consideration for jobs, college admissions and loans because it's not 'fair' if the don't qualify...give it to them anyway. The list goes on and on...that sort of 'fair' I don't believe in.

There is only one of your comments worth responding to as the rest are just whining.

If you don't believe in "the wealth being spread around you have zero comprehension of what a healthy economy consists of. Anf it sure isn't concentrating in one sector.

I've given every opportunity to see that the wealth being spread around is from the bottom up. As it stands now you have no worries about it being spread from the top down. That's the right's ideology of trickle down. A lot like renting the basement in an outhouse.

The only whining I see comes from the progessives who constantly whine about unfair tax breaks, unfair housing, unfair, unfair, unfair. Taxes, as you are so darn fond of saying, are a part of living in this country. I don't object to paying taxes, in fact I pay my share of taxes. But I also don't whine because someone makes more money than I do and has the deductions to avoid paying the taxes. Those deductions were put in nice and legal. You people want people to work their tails off to get ahead so you can take it away and give it to people who don't want to work their tails off but want the best of everything anyway. You act like it's a hardship on the administration to have to be truthful about what they have done to this country in 4 years, but you sure were busy whining about GW not being "truthful", in fact, you still whine about it. Your need to have it both ways is very tiring.

Okay. You consider what those companies I posted on do is acceptable because there is no such thing as fair. Nuff said.

As far as I see it because those companies, along with everyone else, that has deductions that are legal, so is collecting Social Security, Medicare and other legal benefits is legal so what's the fuss being made over the social safety net programs legally collected?

Good question, why are you fussing about them on the thread you started about entitlements?

Because as far as I am concerned there is such a thing of fairness. Even if it is only an ideology based in morality.

So in your world, who determines what is fair? You, the President, Congress, who? And whose morality? Yours, mine, the President's? Because as I see it, the President's morality is not even close to mine. Don't know about yours, but since you whine about fairness a lot, I'm guessing yours is closer to the President's than mine.
