A few minutes of stupidity cause a great deal of pain for many people. Forever. He should get the same. Life.....no parole. And he has to live with it for the rest of his life.

It is funny how easily we pass judgement on each other. I thought only the lord could do that. Yes what Michael did is unthinkable, however he is a person and he is loved immensely by his family and friends regardless of what he has done. Michael will live with this the rest of his life. I also know that Michael is a very caring loving young man. He is dedicated to the lord and has helped many people. So yes he made a horrible mistake, but he is not evil or a monster. He loves and cares just like the majority of you. I just hope that the Christians among you will find it in your hearts to forgive him, because I know he never will be able to forgive himself.
oh honey i am not passing judgement,i just think god would want him to pay for killing this people.all of them had a life,if he did not like his life then just maybe he should have killed him self.but i do hope he pay big time

I think he should be given that sentence of 2-8 years.. but PER person. That's 1-40 years, no chance of parole. Considering the victims, one being an eight-week-old baby, this man should serve 40 years. I know that living with the thought of killing a woman and four of her children will haunt him the rest of his days and that should be enough, but it's not. Granted, this story, like so many others will be forgotten, but he should still serve 40+ years, I think, and once he gets out, community service and illegal for him to consume alcohol.
The sad thing is, even if he gets the max, it will probably be served concurrently, meaning he would get 8 years, and most likely get out sooner with good time credits.

Dedicated to the Lord?

He must have forgotten about Exodus 20:13...Thou Shalt Not Kill.

Please throw this low life scum bucket in jail for life and then change the freakin laws in this country to convict life, if you knowingly drink until your drunk you know that you are in no condition to drive and you can kill someone or in this case almost an entire family, isn't that considered pre meditated murder, knowingly killing someone. Then the jerk can walk away. Such injustice in this country, if I was the surviving adult member of that crash he would not have seen the inside of a court room little own the cops at the scene.
oh my gosh - couldn't agree more. however pre meditated murder is very hard to prove because he has to "intend" or "plan" to kill someone. Did he get behind the wheel and plan or intend to kill anybody probably not. However I beleive the law should be changed in drunk driving cases. With all the advertising that you see promoting not to drive after drinking because you can kill someone, there is no way that anyone doesn't know that this can happen, hence it should be concidered pre meditation under the laws for 1st degree pre meditated murder. and if you live in a state where they have the death penalty, than so be it. maybe if the law is that harsh then people will think before they get behind the wheel after tipping even one drink.

I don't know what to say to make this better...And maybe no one can make this better.. It seems we have been talking about this (Drinking & driving) for some time and clearly it's not enough! Unfortunately this young man will have to live the rest of his life knowing what he's done.. I am sure he didn't mean it.. and you have to have a state of mind to commit a crime... Some thing tells me that his state of mind now is clear!
When it's your turn to return home to heaven, simply you go.. We don't have ryme or reason.. It clearly was this families time to go.. we can pray that they didn't suffer, that it was quick, we can pray that they were all very happy on this day... and we can pray that the hurt will not linger forever.. Let us remember how joyous things were for this family... A new beginning as a family and a new life... I believe in my heart that Bethany was very happy and proud of her family... She and her girls are now in heaven with our lord... where they will be guardians for the remainder of the family..

My thoughts prayers and love go out to Mr. Griffin and the boys.... God Bless You All.. and I pray that these new found angels help and guide this family to better times...

Yeah right he's dedicated to the Lord, I went to his MySpace as well, and with a song that has every other "F" word, yeah that is dedication to the Lord.
He makes me want to puke! When I heard of this horrid tragedy I wanted to puke because I thought of my own family and children how it could have been us or my husband and my children. I agree, LIFE IN PRISON, then when he's done there, LIFE IN HELL!

wow

Well, that page was interesting to say the least. Did anyone else notice the pictures toward the bottom of the page? It says "7 Reasons Not To Drink" then it rotates through 7 pictures of drunk people. Then, at the end of the pictures it says "Sadly, I'm still not convinced..."

After looking at that web page, it is amazing that everyone didn't know he was a drunk. This was mayhem begging to happen. He deserves at least 5 lifetimes in prison, for those lives he selfishly stole.(yes, I know - that's impossible)
I hope he's convinced now. Isn't it awful that it took something as horrific as this.
