Well, it's about time Derek finally has to face the music and own up to his portion of what happened. Let's face it, WEMET would never even have been at Mr. Copp's apartment had he and his roomy not been selling dope...

Good. Its about time he faces this, after all it was him who started this mess doing something against the law. Almost got himself killed. Stop whinning and suck it up, you screwed up no pay the price, eferyone in ottawa county will have to pay for your stupidity. I hope you enjoy your lawsuit winnings far far away (like a mexican jail) from the good people of ottawa county.

I think it is appropriate that he be arrested and let the court decide if he is guilty of this crime. On the other hand, Deputy Huizenga- in the worse case scenario- made a mistake. It should be handled internally by his department. He was doing his job without any criminal intent. To charge him with a crime and potentially ruin his life when he was serving his community is an atrocity.

No way would this ever have gotten this much press if Derek had been black. Just my 2 cents.

lol, they don't have anything on him, just some heresay, some pipes, and a couple grams of weed.
They've got nothing on him, but need to save face and act like he is a criminal for being openly pro-marijuana.
They'll make him spend time and money before eventually dropping the case and then he can sue the hell out of them.

To all of you cop haters out there, let's see what you have to say about these charges.

You have all been declaring Copp is the victim here all along, well, now your perfect little angle seems to have had his wings clipped and his image tarnished.

Let's see what you all have to say now about your darling in Allendale.

The police bought from him previously undercover. They have a solid case and it's about time they made him pay for it.

Let this be a lesson to those who break the law. There are concequences. Derek Copp made his choice. I feel better knowing our law enforecment is trying to keep our community free from drugs and dealers. I support our Ottawa County Sheriff's Department 100%.

It will be interesting to see how this will all play down in court.

With medical marijuana being legal now, he could easily use the argument that he was getting ready to apply for a license to distribute......

Really? You're going to drop the race card? Shame on you. Race has absolutely nothing to do with this incident. Stop trying to bring your feelings of racial injustice into every single situation that happens. Maybe if you stop crying "this wouldn't happen if he was black" every time, someone would actually listen when a racial incident does occur.

If that were the case they would not be wasting prosecutorial time and resources with manufacture and delivery charges. If this were merely possession he would not gotten the attention of the WMET team in the first place.

Its about time Derek be exposed for what he is!
