Maybe a "convoy" to Lansing would get their attention, alerting the media of intent prior to ensure all media is present when a sizable entourage is on the state house steps??

Same here, i've been waiting for over a month and still nothing, every day i call to check the balance on my card and it's 0. It's becoming a headache and bills ar epiling up and debt collectors dont care or understand why i'm having problems paying things off.
I'm close to having to sell my vehicle just to make ends meet.
You keep calling and yet no balance? Why do some on here sit there and say thats its been weeks or months and still no money and they cant get through to MARVIN.

At the first sign of trouble im at the P.R.O. on Plainfield getting it resolved. There is no excuse. Go down there and spend a few hours in line. Ive had to do it twice already in the last month and because I was on it, my UI payments have never missed a beat.

Its not liek I have anything else to do.

I am wondering if anyone waiting on their unemployment "check" understands that they will receive a debit card from, I believe, Chase Bank, that will be infused with their unemployment entitlement? Hopefully those waiting on "checks" have not discarded a piece of mail from Chase Bank thinking it was "junk" mail ....

Friend of mine filed on Nov 7, eight weeks later he finally got his check! I just don't understand what they expect people to do?! And things are just getting worse.
I've waited 4 weeks now after layoff and they say 5-7 days more?

I did not believe in unemployment until it happened to me. I have had a job for 17 years and have even had a carrer change and became a teacher. All was great until.....cuts. I even lost my resturant job on the side! Now i need help and it is difficult to get any! I have been trying MARVIN for 5 weeks now and have yet to get a check because i still have to be"determined". What crap, along with the insane amount of time i spend on the phone waiting to get through. I could scream. I just need to survive till the next job arrives yet there are no jobs!! i have applied for 121 jobs in 7 weeks! Just wish the government could help for once

I did that, when you apply, it ask's if that is the address that you want your check sent to,
I allmost threw the mail from Chase bank away, thinking it was junk mail.
They dont tell you that they put the money in Chase bank ahead of time.
I dont know why they say they will send a check in the mail, and then put it in Chase bank .
I hope you didnt throw that card away!

I called and tried to find out why i've yet to get any money, though i have the debit card, and they told me to try calling back in a week or two becuase we're behind.I almost lost it because i've been trying to get through for over a month and you tell me to "try calling back" in a week or two.Does that mean i'll be waiting even longer to get through or recieve any money? Also i asked if i would get all the back pay for the times i certified with MARVIN, and they simply said "We don't know"

actually I emailed my State Rep, the Gov and the Pres. about the situation. I received a phone call from UIA within 3 days, on a Saturday no less, that I would be receiving my $$ by the following Tuesday. I did get it on that day! Didn't have to waste my gas to go and sit all day in some bldg. waiting to see if someone had an answer

Give them time. It could take many, many weeks for you to see any $$.

I will have to get back to you on this. I'll have to look up the info on where I got it.
I do know that if you know who your State Rep AND State Senator is, they have an email address on their website. If you don't know who your Rep or Senator is, just go to the State website and I believe it's the legislative branch link that you want to click on.

Okay, here's the info.
For the Whitehouse: www.whitehouse.gov upper right hand corner is "contact us" It will take you to a new page and you can go from there.
For Granholm it's: www.michigan.gov
scroll down to bottom of page and then click on "Help & contacts" you will then come to a page that says "Online forms & feedback" Click on either "share your opinion" or Citizens Assistance.
Senators and Legislators are on the main Michigan gov. website on the right hand side.
I'm not going to guarantee that you will get any help, but it doesn't hurt to try. UIA may or may not contact you. The rest won't

It seems to be. My first on-line MARVIN check in kept giving me a strange response about how I have to file a new claim if I have worked past "0" I know, its strange. MY second on-line marvin check in was awesom. Logged on at 8:01 am and a minute later was all done. Like the phone, it will give you a dollar amount. Now this morning, I tried on-line marvin again and got the same error. I called I tried calling for about 10 minutes and was unable to get through. I had to leave for an appointment so put it off until later today. I called the "hot-line" about 4:30 and got through on the first attempt. Although I was on hold for 15 minutes I still had my place in line so to speak.

So to make a long story short. lol I do believe its geting better. A fe glitches with the on-line thing as well as the new help they hired to man the call center. The person that I worked with seemed a little clueless. I pointed out some wrong information she was giving me and she said."yeah...your right" lol I just chalked it up to her being new.

Is anyone else having problems with the online UIA set up? It's been sitting at a redirect for hours and nothing every loads. I've tried different browsers as well and no dice.
