Some points here...
We (the U.S.) are not solely responsible for the enforcement of the chemical weapons ban...the U.N. and NATO are and the International community are. Until they decide to act we have no business doing anything on our own.
Where is the money to pay for all of this going to come from?? We are so far in debt already it's ridiculous.
Just what are we going to aim our bombs at in Syria? The military has been moved into positions that it is impossible we would not kill civilians. There are limited strategic targets that would make an impact and by the time we bombed them the impact would be zero...except for killing civilains. Yes, they are cowards, but we already knew that.
Mark my words...if we do start lobbing bombs ito Syria, it will NOT end there. Iran, Hezbola, and other terrorists have sworn they will retaliate...and that's not going to end soon either. There is no good ending to this situation. On one hand Syria (Assad) hates us and on the other factions that support the rebels (terrorists) do too...
As long as the religious war goes on in Syria they are more focused on killing eachother than coming after us. Granted, they are nasty and don't care who they kill but that's their religion and I want no part of it. Their justification for killing eachother is non of my, your, or the U.S.'s business.
Don't get me wrong Blue...I realize that many innocent people are being affected by this but our intervention will only serve to leave more of them hating us.
I can only speculate that as the #1 world power, it is expected for us to help the little guys.......Costs?....I heard on one of the news channels, that the Arab League had offered to pay our expenses in this mission againest Syria.....Should we be scared of Iran and Hezboula? Iran has no taste for battle with us, they want Israel.....As you've heard me mention often, we really need to stop any spread of Islam, into this country.....

You should be a politician Blue.
On one hand you don't want to see the spread of islam in this country and on the other you want the U.S. to bomb and help over throw one faction of islam that hates the U.S. by another faction of islam that hates the U.S. The irony meter is broken once again.

Instead...an easier solution...give those countries who want to pay the capability to do it themselves. Then they can go on hating eachother and killing eachother. They won't have time to hate us.

I can promise I would not vote for you...

So we are the #1 power now and have an obligation but when we were the #1 power under GW we should have minded our own business? We were attacked on our own soil in 2011 and we should have minded our own business? Is this another version of "I'm not a liberal and I don't love Obama?"

Fascinating piece of history i learned on this documentary on either Cinemax or Showtime...about strange twists in our history.....They told that in 1946, right after WW II, Ho Chi Minh sent a message through channels, supposedly requesting a meeting with President Truman. He requested that he wanted our assistance, in how he might be able to establish a type of democracy for his people in Indochina, later named Vietnam......History records that Truman's advisor's had him ignore that request.....

Never said anything about 2002. Don't know where you came up with that. As for arguing, it's obvious that anyone who dares to disagree with your viewpoint on anything is considered rude, nasty, snotty, snarky and loves to argue. Whatever Blue, enjoy your little narrow world.

Amazing how certain people on these threads that insult others always accuse others of what they are doing and don't realize it. They nit pick like little kids. The rudest ones are the ones that accuse others of being rude.

Blue isn't going to like you pointing that out Sassy. I don't care since you "interpret" everything that disagrees with you or Blue as an attack or rude.

I hear Obama has changed his position on Syria with the pentagon 50 times since this crisis happened. Wow I never would of guessed! And I would of guessed about half that from this inexperienced president. It's another first, he should get a award for the most indecisive president in the history of the United States. Hey maybe if Obama would have done something earlier in Syria like members of Congress were saying he would not be in the position he is now. Instead Obama blames the world and congress for drawing a redline saying he did not draw the redline. He lied once again as the recording shows. The United States may still have some strength left put it is dwindling away. It has lost all respect, lost the trust of the world, lost a great deal of influence. No matter what happens in Syria our world has lost all credibility to the rest of the world. It will take along time to gain what we have lost due to this president.
