Retail sales are .08%. That number is well below the factors involved in coming up with that figure and hardly something to be hooting about.
Maybe of the 5,000 companies they generally ask for input on these figures, a gun retailer replied, for gun sales are up 40%. That alone is enough to get the .08% increase, but hardly a barometer to things looking up.

Auto sales up, but that's due to Toyota's resurgence, and at the expense of GM and Ford.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/chrysl...

Jobs increases: Mostly seasonal and low-paying. While the unemployment rate has dropped, long-term unemployment remains high and 23.5 million Americans are either out of work or underemployed.

If you choose to look at fuzzy math I suppose the economy looks ... off life support, but far from the hope & change figures Obama promised in 2008.

Sorry, Blue ... part-time jobs and Toyota's success aren't enough to make Obama's performance acceptable. But keep looking on the bright, delusional side :)

Sorry Diggs, perhaps you should study your source closer.....Automotive group head states, "We are in a pronounced recovery now"....also that Ford outsold Toyota by alot, and GM also outsold Toyota by a bit.....i know also that annual sales, last year and so far, this year are best since 2005...In March Chrysler sales rose 44%.....but, you can be as pessimistic as you like.....

And they fell in April for all the automakers. You apparently are not bothered by the high unemployment numbers for African Americans, teenagers, and the additional estimated 14-15% of Americans who have just stopped looking for work altogether which would make the true unemployment rate closer to 20%. You prefer fuzzy math so you can stay "optimistic." Good for you.

Getting testy are you??? You wouldn't have to get testy if you would understand what "fuzzy math" is all about. It's all about fooling you and millions of other Americans who accept what anyone says at face value without looking into the numbers behind the numbers. I didn't accept the GW numbers at face value either and I didn't base how the country was doing by how my personal 401K was doing either. I also didn't base how the country was doing on the earnings of companies who were given bailout monies that didn't bother to pay those monies back to the taxpayer. I prefer accountability to "feeling good about the economy." But, that is just me. You are entitled to "feel good about the economy" for whatever reason you may have. Have some coffee, maybe that will help you feel better.

Back to the fictional faceless generic Julia, for that is the way that BHO and his kind see everyone faceless generic, not really an individual just a thing. So the delusional BHO went with this garbage because of the fact he has never lived a life he is a fictional character just like Julia.

When will the Neo-Cons, Teabaggers, and other supporters of the grand old party come to realize that this story is what really happens in real life all the time. Liberals understand all of this, so it was produced to teach you right wing fanatics.

It was only given as a cartoon because you were all home schooled and have a hard time adjusting to normal educational forms.

The "fictional lives" are those born with silver spoons in their mouths is more accurate.
The GOP just loves to think no one has a memory as they are too worried about how others interrupt figures and stats and go on their fuzzy math rant. I really can't be the only one that took a class about how "facts" can be reported in several different manners and still be accurate. We're not hearing so much about the "elite" any more now are we? I think the birth certificate is finally a dead issue, maybe we can hear the end of "Messiah" too as Romney is in the cult religion.

Sorry interjecting reality into your Pie-In-The-Sky outlook on the condition of things is pissing you off to the point of losing it and having to censor yourself, but make no mistake, I'm in no way celebrating what's happening in our country. I'm just countering your feelings with facts again. However, when cartoon propaganda is the government's best solution to convincing people like you their policies are good for them, it's awfully hard to keep from laughing at those of you who actually buy into it.

Your fellow smart-ass, Bob, predictably getting it wrong again, fails to recognize this cartoon was posted on Obama's site, for Obama followers to enjoy. Conservatives wisely don't frequent that site, but useful idiots, who the progressives clearly feel can only comprehend something as complicated as government control of their body if it's explained ala cartoon, evidently do. That should tell you how this administration feels about your intelligence, to say nothing of how it sees poor Julia, and women in general, as an obedient ward of the government throughout her entire cartoon life. The fact you can't recognize you're considered a cartoon-reading moron by the people you're voting for, then getting angry at people who are trying to knock some sense into your thick skulls, says more about you than anyone else.

Maybe if drew a cartoon for you you could understand it better.

CBS Nightly News, this evening reported Mitt Romney taking partial credit for the success in the domestic auto industry....the same Mitt Romney, that criticized Obama for the bailout and said that they should have been allowed to go bankrupt and restructure.....

I wonder,.....
Ford is doing very well also,.... they refused the "bailout".
Why couldnt GM and Chrysler have gone the same route as Ford?
Maybe instead of wasting hundred's of BILLION's of taxpayer money on GM and Chrysler, it might have been better to let them balance their budgets themselves.
We will never know the answer to that because Those companies chose to take the free Obama money. GM still owes some $60 Million!
Obama's solution to everything, is throw a bunch of money (that we dont have) at it.
Have you forgotten about the $500 million Solyndra deal?
United Solar, right here in west Michigan got a lot of "bail-out" money also,...they just closed up also.
I do agree with Obama's 2008 campain slogan.
It's time for change!

Holy Cow Blue,.... talk about "flip flopping"
Did you happen to watch any news shows Sunday morning?
You had Joe Biden on Meet the Press saying he's against gat marriage, but then he say's he supports it.
Obama say's he supports gay's, but is against gay marriage, but might change his mind someday.
On Meet The Press, Biden said that if Obama is relected, they will let the Bush tax cuts expire.
That will mean a tax increase on EVERYONE!!!
I'm glad for you that you have so much money that you will be happy to pay more money for Obama's reckless spending!
Romney is right!
GM should have taken care of it's financial situation on it's own.
Why should the taxpayers pay for their ineptness?
The government does not need to own automotive companies.
What's next?
Should the government own Mc Donald's also?

Under Obama, Julia is in college longer than most. The average age of students is from 18-21 yrs. old. Julia is 26 when she completes college and is 4 yrs. behind her classmates. Under Obama, Julia doesn’t have to pay back any student loans that she took for her education. Being a fan of the occupy movement, they are taught how to default on their loans. As explained by Frances Fox Piven, a CUNY professor, the idea of not paying back debt, an idea that’s been at the forefront of the movement since the beginning:“Here’s something public sociologists could do – I think we need to figure out exactly how students can protect themselves against reprisals if they refuse to pay their debts. How can they protect themselves against having their wages garnished?”
Under Obama, Julia would be able to take over private property for her ownership. Because Julia is a fan of occupy, they have figured out how they can defend themselves in the reoccupation of foreclosed homes. They would know how to defend those houses that are occupied. They learned that they can exert enough pressure so that the occupations become legal ownership.

No jobs? Why is that? Profits. Welcome to YOUR economy, it's called a free market, you know the one where the only important thing is a company's bottom line. People are doing the work of two or three and getting paid less. Businesses don't go into business to create jobs, they are there to make money, even if that means the big wigs get to make 4,000 times what the average paid worker receives. If they can't under pay Americans enough then the other alternative is to move that job over the boarder or over seas. Deal with it! This is the fallback of a free market. You people have finally gotten your wish, the unions are crushed and restrictions have been lifted. Every president in the last 40 years has been bought and paid for, even Obama. You have to face the fact that when you embrace a free market and allow corporations to act as individuals the only expected results are high unemployment and low wages. Now go back to watching America's Got Talent or American Idol or whatever it is your watch, a distracted populous is an acquiescent one.

BS
Obama has had every opportunity to prove how your liberal, anti-capitalist, economic plan works and what we have is unemployment still over 8% and companies too afraid to spend for fear of having big government swoop in and mandate their money away. We have the government taking taxpayer money to fund Petrobras,(you remember George Soros right?- he which liberals do not speak of) and the brazilian oil industry so they can turn around and sell oil to CHINA. You remember Solyndra, right?(Again, seemingly liberal Kryptonite), where Obama took billions of taxpayer money to fund a campaign donor that went out of business. That's just a couple of the problems with your anti-capitalism rant, pal.

Please stop with the pie-in-the-sky-government-know s-best and ridiculous theory that these power-hungry career politicians and party machines don't play a large role in the corruption that has seen US jobs flee America for other countries. Your theory is to empower them even further.

The problem with people like you is you type this BS on MACS and PCs using technology developed and paid for through capitalistic economy, then whine about how these evil Apple and Windows - and oil and every other product you use every day - corporations need to be bootjacked by big government, who's only tangible product seems to be corruption and failed policies that serve to only make the political elite rich and powerful.

Now go back to your PC and look up funny YouTube videos for the rest of the day. By the way, if your liberal leaders had their way, and the internet were scoured of free speech, there would be no YouTube, or Topix sites. Isn't Big Government fun!
