Scott Bowman is the most logical choice. His views are strongly in line with constitutional government. He is better educated than the rest of the field. Most importantly, he has a proven history of commitment to the citizens of Michigan. There is really no other choice. Do your research and see for yourselves. Good place to start is votesmart.org .

And no change of winning, I think Ruth Johnson is the same way and absolutely has proven history of commitment to the citizens of MI and the prevention of Voter fraud. There reallly is a winning choice. Sorry Scott, next time run on a more familiar ticket, you may have a chance then, good luck next time.

LMAO...Look what happenned to our change! Seros needs to be put in his place and get out of our politics. He's been trying for years to get into the SOS, just check what happenned a few years ago in OH. Heck, look what happenned in Oakland County. Give Dems that type of control, under the premise of "reform" and Michigan will become a laughing place all over again.

Terry Lynn Land did a lot in regards to Reform as did Candice Miller, people have to quit re-writing history. Land fought against furlogh days for her employees, since she had come far under-budget the whole time in office. She was forced by Grandholm to take them, what she did was then was keep the SOS offices open later the rest of the week for those citizens who were left in the dark. If you haven't visited a SOS office lately it's because of Land that you can now do most of your business online. You also can use a machine that's available outside the Office to handle several more transactions. Heck, I can even renew my drivers license through the mail and pay over the phone.

As for the election responsibities, give an honest assessment of who had exposed the fraud in several elections and who has been exposed as committing the fraud. Ever since Acorn has changed it's names to smaller community services, funds for the Democratic Candidates in the country have been flowing in from the likes of George Seros, etc. The last thing we need is a book lawyer who knows how to avoid detection as Sec. of State. People new to this voting process need to understand that these elections actually do impact our economy and our freedom.

I believe the Republicans are against stem cell research done on embryos at the expense of our tax dollars. Private research is being done, though similiar results have been done on Adult stem cells.(Only recently has embryonic stem cells may be used to regenerate a spinal cord injury, interesting it happens to be that specific claim). Don't use my tax dollars for research on embryos. I am by no means a "religious right" hijacking the Party, I am a citizen who doesn't believe in abortion or using embryos for research. I don't want my dollars paying for it.

BTW...what does that have to do with SOS?

Vote according to your viewpoint. If you believe the Republican Party has 100% total integrity and that Koch Brother ties to the Tea Party is not at all a part of Ruth Johnson's campaign; if you believe that the Republican Party's pure goal is to enable everyone to vote and in no way has a history of suppressing and disenfranchising voters, then vote for Ruth Johnson. No one is standing in your way.
It is easy to smear anyone with innuendo and suspicion, isn't it?
Those of us less than "perfect" will vote for the person whom we believe is more qualified: Jocelyn Benson. May be best person win. I for one will accept the outcome either way it turns out.
No one has claimed that the Republican Party is above reproach, but I will claim that Candice Miller, Terry Lynn Land and Ruth Johnson have all done their jobs, especially during elections to make sure all voters were counted and maintain the integrity of our votes. To say otherwise would be dubious. I don't need to use innuendo or suspicion with respect to the prior democratic candidates who ran for this position, they have been brought out in the open. Benson is a lawyer at best, and one who can put words and ideas together in a book, she has never had to deal with actual voter fraud and would defend a guilty person if need be. Exposing fraud, especially recently, speaks volumes as to what people will to win an election. I stated in an earlier post that Janice Winfrey would have been taken under serious consideration if she had won the Democratic Primary. It's your fellow voters who messed up with respects to an integrity driven candidate running, Kym Worthy would have been an excellent Atty General, but selfishly, I am glad she is still in Wayne Cty. She's cleaning it up! You can claim to self-depricate all you want, I only suggest you look further into the details of this particular voting year and see just why Soros has invested heavily all over the country for this particular position. You may want to pick up the "Rules for Radicals" book by Saul Alinski while your at it.

It's time for reforms in our Secretary of State's office and Jocelyn Benson is the candidate who will make it happen. Benson supports reforms like early voting - which generally allows voters to vote in-person prior to Election Day. Early voting already exists in more than 30 other states and the program has enjoyed tremendous success and has broad bipartisan support.
Benson wants to make voting easier and more secure in Michigan. Early voting would help increase turnout and make voting more convenient. Her opponent, Republican Ruth Johnson, represents more of the same old failed policies. Johnson said in the debate last week that she opposes early voting and that this much-needed reform "doesn't work" in Michigan. Doesn't work? More than two-thirds of the country has already made early voting work.
Check out this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =AQIyLYLXqZ0XX
Why does Ruth Johnson oppose early voting? Why doesn't she want to make voting easier and more convenient for all of us?
It's time to reform government in Michigan. It's time to modernize our election system and catch-up to the rest of the country. Jocelyn Benson will make Michigan a leader once again. Benson is the reformer we need. Vote Benson for Secretary of State.
Now for the real truth and facts...This is an important election and early voting is costly, cumberson and more condusive to fraud. If you want to vote "early", vote absentee, they are counted now. Here is why the "progressives" and democrats are pushing the issue and trying to imply they are "open" and somewhat "informed"...
"Some of the most overlooked and ultra important positions in this state are those who run the elections. Those are the County Clerk, Township/City Clerk, and the Secretary of State’s office. It takes the work of these offices and their staffs to run the elections and make sure the process is above board, competent, and with integrity. Livingston County does a great job with its Bureau of Elections. While these positions shouldn’t be politicized, at least when it comes to elections, they are in a big way, and this politicization is coming to Michigan.
Some people don’t like it when their boys don’t make the rules of the game. First and foremost is the benefactor of the democrats, convicted insider trader George Soros, the man who broke the Bank of England. Much like his counterparts at Goldman Sachs, he makes a killing off of speculating, and what better way of doing that than by controlling elections.Other rich leftist democrats also wanted to get their people elected in their attempt to control our lives.

There project is called the Secretary of State Project. It’s goal is to get their type of democrats in charge, and then look the other way when ACORN and PIRG to commit voter fraud rigging the election for the democrats."
Just look at what has happened in OH. First they claim disenfranchised voters, then began the campaign of Democrats having more "integrity"....It's a well thought out, evolving plan and here are the new targets...
Since 2006 the Democracy Alliance, a left leaning influence group funded by George Soros among others, has had remarkable success in targeting and claiming Secretary of State’s offices in 11 of 13 critical states they targeted, including Ohio, Minnesota and Iowa.
Called the Secretary of State Project (SOSP) its aim is to target and capture the obscure, often overlooked office and implement election rules changes that give democrats a better chance of winning a plurality. Among those changes that SOSP calls “election protection,” are a loosening of voter registration requirements and a lessening of efforts to prevent fraudulent voting, according to Matthew Vadum, a political analyst with the Capitol Research Center.
‘The thing that is amazing is that they can get the office for as little $100,000 in campaign funding because no one pays attention to it, and they get to control election opportunities in a state. It is cheap,” Vadum said.
He said SOSP is currently targeting three states in the 2010 election: California, Michigan and Minnesota. In total they count for 82 electoral votes.
Vadum says that because of chaos and demoralization the Republican Party has not formulated a response to the SOSP or tried to match their efforts

Hey, I wonder why the race for between Calley and Laurence is so much closer in these polls than the race between Snyder and Bernero. I think the "the base" sees Snyder as a he is, a RINO who supports abortion and BUSH type unfunded spending. There's probably a bit of racism, sexism involved also that motivates them to vote. Pssssssst, Laurence is a black woman.

These facts must be really angering the psychotic Republican troll, HPQ, and all his multiple personalities. I bet TLZ and Bogi33 will resurface as we get closer to election day.

Republicans fear voter turnout because they lose. It's much harder for the working poor to get to the polls and Republicans like it that way. "Goo goo syndrome", Republicans don't want good government. They want to dismantle government.

Are you comparing Moveon.org , Acorn and the likes to The Tea Party movement? As for Koch Industries, if they have financed any thing called The Tea Party, I don't think it has "trickled down" so to speak. If that was the case, I want my coffee and donuts back from all the ones I supplied at the local area meetings.

You cannot stand it that when we protested against Wall Street back when, then continued to protest on Tax Day 2009 with respects to our money being used for bail outs, we were right. You and the media ignored us for over a year, and only until the Health Care Bill was being rammed down our throats and we came out in droves to our local town hall meetings to ask your liberal representatives (socialists) to READ THE BILL, did you lame mf's take notice and try to discredit us. You have the same thug mentality as our President who lead the call to the SEIU to "get in their face". It's sick people like you who will slander, lie, cheat and steal in order to gain power. The only reason you most likely are even aware of who the President is or who is running for Sec. of State is because of the Tea Party Movement bringing politics into the foreground with rallies and events.

What credit can the libs take from all of this? They can own up to the fact that now, from Children to Senior Citizens know what Teabagging means. First mentioned by Chris Matthews, carried on by all the Liberal media and having the term become more prevelant in our english language. A term that was used in the Porn industry. Yeah, you libs, you make me sick. To vote for anyone of your candidates (even if to cross party lines as some of you have done to sabatage a primary) I would have to barf all the way into the polling place, hold my nose near anyone of you, and gag profusely as I marked my ballot. In other words, it will never happen.

Some people research to arrive at conclusions while others research only to prove foregone conclusions. Their tirade is never-ending. Too bad there isn't an "ignore" feature on this site.

Incidentally, here is another write-up on the Koch Brothers with supportive links to substantiate the statements given: a refreshing change from statements given with no supportive documentation.

http://palingates.blogspot.com/2010/10/tea-pa...

There is considerable reading available on this topic via a simple google search. Interesting tidbit: the Koch brothers' father was a founding member of the John Birch Society.

Benson is a socialist and a carpetbagger from out of state. She has been living in Massachusetts most of her life and just moved here three years ago to run for office.
