These number are jumping up fast. How can they know these are right? It makes news, but is it accurate?

"The government misled people," said Thin Thin, a grocery story owner in Rangoon. "They could have warned us about the severity of the coming cyclone so we could be better prepared."

What does that relay....^^^^

Whatever the numbers are, this is very sad. What we sometimes forget is these are human beings with families and friends that they love. I hope the high numbers of deaths are wrong, but I have a very bad feeling that they will grow even more.

I hope we as American's aren't suckered into sending aid to this country. The government is tyranical and the fewer people they have in their population to join them in their evil culture the better for the rest of the world. I know most of those people don't deserve this, but this kind of Natural Disaster is the way Nature controls the human population. We don't need to circumvent Nature's plan by the redistribution of wealth!
I wonder

While there is no dispute that the loss of life is tragic, if the US does drum up with monies to send to help those in Myanmar, I can't help but wonder about:
1) How many other countries are also going to be sending aid, especially in this "global" economy, such as those countries that are growing rapidly and whose economies are doing relatively well (e.g. China and others)?
2) How many countries came to the aid of the US in the aftermath of Hurrican Katrina?
3) With the way that the U.S. economy is, considering the de-valued dollar, the energy crisis (and it's associated trickle-down affect on food, gasoline, electricity, etc.), the subprime housing crisis, the budget deficit as well as the escalating cost of war, along with the fact that there are homeless people and people without healthcare in this country, from where is the U.S. supposed to come up with monies to aid other countries?
4) How is the U.S. going to get reimbursed if the U.S. does fork over monies/aid and goes deeper into debt? From the taxpayer, the unending source of revenue?

These are questions that should be posed to politicians & highlighted by the media.
Why isn't THAT happening?
Why is the fact that the media is deliberately choosing to NOT pose such questions not being raised as an issue by anyone?

This country and the media has its priorities all f&*cked up!!!
