Government is there to protect the people, not just from other countries but also Religion, Corporate greed, ect.....
Businesses are there to make a profit by any means possible and that is not good for the people.
Obama became President, I went back to work.
While Bush was President , I lost my job.
Government is not here to protect you from religion, but to protect your right to practice religion if you so choose.
A business making profit is not good for the people??!!

Grief, how could you possibly get things so ass-backwards?!

Pretty easy, I am a worker.
Freedom of religion also means feedom from religion, my choice not yours.
Business wants to make more profit, 1) lower my wages, 2) higher prices, 3) pre-existing conditions for health care. I could go on an on.

Wake up middle class Repubs are not good for us.

Nope...try again and maybe look up the meanings of 'of' and 'from' so you know the difference.

The truth is you're constantly wrong. It's become redundantly wrong and therefore boring as hell. You'll continue to call people idiots and prattle on about your anti-corporate conspiracies, but the truth is you're not convincing anyone that isn't already blindly ensconced in Useful Idiocy, tools and human shields to people who will dispose of them at their convenience - as you say.
The truth is more and more people just want Obamacare repealed. They don't trust the authors of this horror, nor do they trust this administration's ability to manage any amount of money, let alone $700 billion. You can drone on about evil, corrupt business owners, but that means nothing in the face of this economy and the prospect of an entirely corrupt government controlling our health care - which, despite your tantrums - is exactly who will be in charge, and exactly who will be misappropriating that $700 billion.
This has to set a record, for the longest post, that says virtually NOTHING......Just bitterness, no substance.....

Look it up for yourself as you obviously don't understand it. Freedom of religion means freedom to worship as one pleases with a guarantee there will be no state sponsered religion that dominates any other. There also is no provision requiring anyone register or declare any specific religion therefore assuring everyone freedom from any religion.

You can not have it both ways...either the gov't is protecting everyone from other religions or it's setting a preference for a specific religion.
The "of" in that clause also implies "from".
Think about it.

This is your proof?! LMAO!!!!*snort*

Really? You gave me a link to a group that obviously labels everyone that does not agree with them as a 'hate' group. Hell, some of them only for questioning environmentalists. Anything that could potentially be a 'ring wing' group is on this list.... wow, now there's 30 minutes of my life I will NEVER get back!

I counted 3 'potential' problems in the ENTIRE list. And of those 3? Yeah, never heard of them before now.

Thanks for the waste of time and giggles SS. I think maybe you need to realize there is more to life than your blind hatred and fear mongering.

That 700 BILLION, is part of the GOP poison pill passed in 2006, which diverts Medicare funds from Seniors, straight into the pockets of private insurers. It is actually going to be re-applied towards providing actual care to actual people. But then, you might have to read to know that...
The SECOND one moron, NOT Bush's left overs.

Did you forget or are you conveniently ignoring it? You know, the one that just HAD to pass to keep unemployment rate below 8%?

Thank you Mr. Wiggley!!

Hence the problem with SS throwing the fear card of "Theocracy" around.

I apologize, I read the post wrong... and made myself re-read it to answer correctly.

Try reading Obamacare. 700 Million in cuts to Medicare are IN the bill. Even the CBO confirmed it was in the bill.

So, my conclusion of Moron still stands.

The Constitution protects my right to worship God and Achbad's right to worship Allah or Buddha, or Satan for that matter. You can whine about it all day but it won't change. If you think that's some sort of infringement on your rights to be an atheist then that's your problem. No one is forcing a Bible or Koran in your paranoid little hands, and frankly I'm sick of listening to you whine about it constantly.

So, you're OK with legislating under the pretext of mythological morality, as long as it is YOUR mythology, right? Like the paranoid right's fear of "Shariah Law" being implemented here, while simultaneously passing Personhood laws to subjugate women and appease the christian zealots.

ANY legislation taken from or inspired by any myth to the exclusion of any other myth is, by definition, and infringement on everyone else's right to practice their own mythology.

There is a reason the Framers listed that one First. You are the reason.

With all of your post's about atheism, and your attacks on any one that doesnt follow that religion, it makes one wonder.
Why do you atheist's have such a hatred of others that dont follow your religion?

Why is that such a hard concept for them to grasp?

I have a feeling they completely understand the concept but choose to stick their fingers in their ears and scream BLAH-BLAH-BLAH to try and drown out hearing it.

Everyone of Dingleberry's posts are a great example of this.

I have an excellent book in my library for those on this forum that truly don't understand the founding fathers thought process during the framing of the constitution. "The Founding Fathers Guide to the Constitution." I realize it doesn't have pictures, but reading it would be truly helpful.

I made no reference to any specific religion and was only pointing out to two posters that their interpretation of the Constitution was incorrect.
Why do religious people like you so quickly throw out the word hatred when someone just disagrees with you?
And don't even tell me you are agnostic.

Awww...what happened to that 'can't we all just get along' Wiggley? I think you'll find that your comment fits both sides of the issue.
Shall we beat this dead horse some more? Why not...I'm game this morning.
Once again...the constitution states that the government cannot establish a state religion. It further states that all citizens have the right to the free exercise of their chosen religion. It says nothing about freedom FROM religion or the right of any one individual (or the government, for that matter) to prevent another individual from the free exercise of their own religion or forcing that person to 'hide' their religion from view so they don't have to be 'exposed' to it.
The way you atheists go on an on about it, you'd think that people actually have the ability to force you to believe something against your will and all it takes is simply to come into contact with it. Are your minds and wills really that weak that you can't say, "meh...believe what you will, it's not for me" and move on?
