Here is a piece about fascism coming to America written by Yale Professor Halford Luccock in 1938:

"When and if fascism comes to America it will not be labeled "made in Germany"; it will not be marked with a swastika; it will not even be called fascism; it will, of course, be called "Americanism."

"The high-sounding phrase "the American way" will be used by interested groups, intent on profit, to cover a multitude of sins against the American and Christian tradition, such as lawless violence, tear gas and shotguns, denial of civil liberties," he said. "There is an obligation resting on us all to dedicate our minds to the hard task of thinking in terms of Christian objectives and values, so that we may be saved from moral confusion.

"For never, probably, has there been a time when there was a more vigorous effort to surround social and international questions with such a fog of distortion and prejudice and hysterical appeal to fear. We have touched a new low in a Congressional investigation this summer, used by some participating in it to whip up fear and prejudice against many causes of human welfare, such as a concern for peace and the rights of labor to bargain collectively.

Sinclair Lewis, 1935:
"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross."

Looks like people had the Tea Party pegged three quarters of a century ago...

Fascism:
( sometimes initial capital letter ) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

The biggest fascists are the gays. They are bigots and they attack anyone who disagrees with their behavior, and they try to outlaw any free speech that criticizes their lifestyle.

The scary part is how what they describe 75 years ago is so close to what we are seeing today with the Tea Party.

Corporate interests (Koch brothers, etc.) are funding and leading the Tea Party.
People like David Barton are re-writing history to offer a christian nation where there was none.
FOX News is a 24 hour propaganda loop selling this crap as the new "americanism" that our founders wanted and had been lost or covered up.
Teabaggers are sold the idea that having less is better for them.

Power grabs in Wisconsin and Michigan are unprecedented.
Wisconsin governor now has the power to sell the state-owned utilities to for-profit corporations through no-bid contracts.
Michigan governor will be able to override elections and put corporations in charge of local governments, including major cities like Detroit, with unilateral power to void contracts, seize assets, and crush public schools.

This is the new brand of "Americanism" being sold.

ol·i·gar·chy (¼l“¹-gär”k¶,½“l¹-) n., pl. ol·i·gar·chies. 1.a. Government by a few, especially by a small faction of persons or families. b. Those making up such a government. 2. A state governed by a few persons.--ol”i·gar“chic or ol”i·gar“chi·cal adj.

Especially as more and more the government is becoming the puppet of the top 1% with a greater percent of the bottom 50% supporting it thinking they will get jobs as a result.

It's all semantics whether it be fascism, plutocracy or oligarchy. None of those are democracy.

Somehow according to the cool kids crowd and their Yale professors, conservatives have managed to take one giant leap from Cro-magnum mentality of "Obama Bad", "Palin Good" as of last week, to being credited with a highly complex and long-planned operation of implementing Christian Capitalist Fascism rule over America today!

Evidently ignorant and racist just isn't enough for the left, now they've digressed to wild accusations of fascism - and why this time? Because we're putting a cork in the public union corruption machine?? Oh, the humanity!

Democracy, something the left continuously touts until it doesn't go their way.

"I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw … I saw this myself in the late ’70s in San Francisco,", sniff sniff gurgle ...“This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and … I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made..."

So thar ya go.
Ronald Reagan fired all the Air Traffic Controllers who went out on strike. He broke that union just as the current republican leaders are breaking today's public unions.
So thar YOU go.

If it were left up to the public unions (who you believe are fighting for worker rights) and politicians like Obama we would have something hypocritically called an "Employee Free Choice Act".Workers already have a free choice in secret-ballot elections conducted under existing laws. As more and more workers in the private sector have voted to reject having a union represent them, the unions' answer has been to take away secret-ballot elections. Under the "Employee Free Choice Act," unions would not have to win in secret-ballot elections in order to represent the workers. Instead, union representatives could simply collect signatures from the workers until they had a majority.

Why do we have secret ballots in the first place, whether in elections for unions or elections for government officials? To prevent intimidation and allow people to vote how they want to, without fear of retaliation.

There's your freedom and there's the pubic unions trying to take it away from their workers. We all have a pretty good idea of what ol' Ronnie would think of that!

"The most fundamental fact about labor unions is that they do not create any wealth. They are one of a growing number of institutions which specialize in siphoning off wealth created by others, whether those others are businesses or the taxpayers.

There are limits to how long unions can siphon off money from businesses, without facing serious economic repercussions." Thomas Sowell

It only takes two words to describe the left's playbook in the "era" of Obama: Saul Alinsky.

And another two words to describe today's blind liberal herd: Useful Idiots.

And that's all that tells you about your beloved Ronald Reagan, and for that matter the political Party he represented? Or maybe, probably actually, you condone and advocate duplicity?

Reagan fired the air traffic controllers because they went out on strike. NOT because they had the right to collective bargaining.

And "As more and more workers in the private sector have voted to reject having a union represent them,...." you would say workers wages and benefits have increased or decreased to be able to participate in the "free market place"?

And as usual you have misrepresented where you say what the Employee Free Choice Act was. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php...

Boy you people that look at history, and everything else that debunks your position, in halves are dangerous to democracy.
