Looks like Spain is going to announce prosecution of the Bush/Cheney legal team including Gonzo today. Keep in mind these same Spaniards were media darlings and honored for going after Pinochet for his atrocities. Apparently they think Bush, Cheney and Gonzo are right there with Pinochet.

Yea, get excitied about some foriegn goverment thinking that have any juridiction over any US Citizen that did nothing wrong in thier country.

Sure, get excitied about it. It will be wonderful for you up until the time where they deciede to prosecute some left wing politican.

Then when that happens, something tells me the LEFT won't be so supportive.

End result? Nothing. It's a ginned up publicity stunt.

I would love to see any Spainish law enforcement try and detain a formre President or Vice President.

The Secret Service will execute a double tap, center mass before they can even get the cuffs out.

Well said. These "charges" they are filling are nothing more then further attempts by Spain to stay in the good graces of the Jihadist.

I'm not 100% sure, but I dont think Spain can do anything, unless they arrest these people in Spain.
So, all they have to do, is not travel to Spain, and no problem.

We won't extradite them but a lot of countries will. These 6 are going to be stuck here for fear of arrest and extradition if warrants are issued.

Interesting that the right wing wackos think it is ok for us to go roaming around the world locking folks up but for some reason Spain cannot. I think Spain is just as capable of prosecuting and incarcerating war crimnals as we are. We thought it was great when they went after Pinnochet and no one complained that they did not have jurisdiction over him when they locked him up. We went after, prosecuted and incarcerated Noriega and I beleive now we are in the process of handing him over to another country for prosecution. If we can prosecute the leader of Panama why can't Spain prosecute the leaders of the U.S.

You see when we all thought that going after Noriega was a great idea we never imagined that our White House would be authorizing war crimes, silly us.

But wouldn't Obama have sat down with Pinochet and negotiated a deal over his atrocities? Wouldn't Obama have taken Hitler out for coffee - probably cappuccino?

I don't think its a case of the right wing saying it's okay but not for Spain.

The rubber meets the road on carrying through with action over words.

When the US says we will lock-up or kill terrorists around the world, we mean it. And we have the capability to do it. Which we have demonstrated. Repeatedly.

On the other hand, Spain saying they will arrest Bush / Cheney - ANY US POLITICAN for some fictional "international crime" is fiction at best and an act of war at worse.

As I've said before, you and the LEFT are very happy about this, since it's Bush. But, it could also be called an act of war.

And Spain can't back up an act of war on the US. But we sure could with them.

It's too bad that Petey can't recognize a political ploy when he see it. Nothing will ever come of this. For starters, your man (president moldy shorts) wont allow it, he doesn't want to be in the same position in a few short years. Think back to when a newly seated president pardoned a previous president for actual crimes, to the chagrin of most of the country.

You haven't noticed that the new president has changed some of his viewpoints since taking office? He now has the rest of the classified information and can make better informed decisions. Why are we still in Iraq? It's fun watching the dems have a cow over that one!
