Well, there were a few good reasons why the Tea Party opposed the then AHCA legislation as it moved its way through congress and now we can say we told you so.

By the way, I'm pretty sure that the average Topix poster is old enough to qualify for senior citizens discounts. This will be affecting YOU first!

The only way progessives are going to believe it is when it happens to them. I think the warnings should stop for these progessives. Let them discover it in the actual costs of their healthcare AND the insurance. For some reason, they are incapable of thinking that Obama and his cohorts would lie to them. They have the mindset that the German people had in 1939. Hitler was charming and a liar as well.

That would fine if it only affected them. Unfortunately, everyone of us and our children and children's children will be enslaved by this. When it becomes evident that the entire health care system is unraveling, they will call for universal healthcare which was their intent from the beginning. Progressive-ism has to be stopped before the fulcrum tips.

I agree with you. Just another reason that I didn't and continue to not trust Obama. He's a liar and a narcissistic man.

"If you like your current physician, you can keep'm!"

That is if you can find'm in the gigantic medical Obamacare complex while in line behind 500 other waiting patients.

Of course, the dolts who support this horrible idea willingly align themselves like lemming on a daily basis anyway.

You village idiots might want to read the linked article....

Germany has a private provider system quite similar to the one evolving with ObamaCare—everyone has to play and most folks are covered by mandatory government-subsidized, employer-based insurance; however, unlike ObamaCare, that system aggressively regulates prices through private-sector consensus building.

Again, like, a utility--that’s the point.

Germany caps health care spending, and sets provider prices through a complex system of private sector negotiations that divides up the pie.

Americans spend nearly $10,000 per person on health care, while the Germans spend half as much. By most measures, German health care is as good or superior to what Americans receive.

Just like the government doesn’t always know best, markets and competition don’t always contain costs effectively and provide the best outcomes. Germans--who aren’t liberals-- get it, but conservative Republicans don’t.

That's awesome, Bob. Maybe you like to get equated to a leaky toilet, but I'm guessing most Americans want to get genuine health care, not plumbers helper medicine at a discount.

The health market would have generated some competition had Obama worked with republicans and put in place common sense business solutions like traveling policies. Instead we get government health care or nothing. How's that for competition! And all indications show we're gong to be paying a lot more for that pipe wrench to the gizzard than what we were promised.

They can repair your O-Ring when you get it abused? Really? I didn't know that there were that many catholics in Germany!

Germans will pay for anything and wait for the service? Yup, and from the looks of the article they only pay have what we do and the quality of service is better!

That's where you are wrong! Republicans were so worried if they worked with the dems on health care that they would be labeled as being 'pro-health care reform' by their constituents at home or by their opponents in the next election cycle. It's a classic example of doing nothing and then complaining about the outcome, all to protect their political future. So don't turn this around on Obama and say he didn't work with republicans because anyone who followed health care reform knows that's just not true.

That's today's politics though isn't it? There's no such thing as compromise anymore. There's no working together, there's just a bunch of big babies yelling and screaming at each other until one of them takes their ball and goes home. It's disfunctional and embarrassing and it's about time the voters (the People) demanded more from their elected officials.

Only a liberal would get political advice from a shingle jockey.
