Yesterday Obama gave a speech in Virginia saying "You can't do things by yourself." Yet in a Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, it revealed that 86 percent of Americans believe that individuals make their own success in the United States. Further, the survey finds that 88 percent of American adults think it’s “at least somewhat likely that someone who works hard and makes good decisions will enjoy a middle-class lifestyle,” including 38 percent who say it’s “Very Likely.”
In a separate poll, Rasmussen Reports found that more than half the country, 52 percent, believe most people get rich by working hard. However, 28 percent believe most get rich by inheriting money and 9 percent believe it is luck that brings riches.

In a nutshell, I'd Obama blows and eventually people will catch on to him. The experiment has failed!!

The fruits of a ridiculously poor public education system chock-full if liberal-minded teachers convincing their little sponges that the government will take care of them and rich people are evil.

True..... Teachers are more concerned with little girls pulling out a piece of art that looks like a gun made of paper........ If only my kids were little again....... They would wear tee shirts with the Armed Service plastered on the inside and out......

I would like to see that speech. Anyway if he said it he is wrong of course. Now there are those who will call me clueless and a nut and say I did not do this on my own. I took a job in 2007 in Grand Rapids with the knowing that this company had a branch in Traverse City. After careful thought and patience and learning the job, after five years I met the right person and two months later in Dec 2011 I found myself working in Traverse City. Now no doubt with the help of a few friends I moved. I sold my home in Grand Rapids bought a home here in T C and have a new fresh life, with not one person from the government helping me I really did it on my own. It took guts patience and fortitude to accomplish what I have done. It was not easy but for the most part it was me an individual with foreknowledge of what I was about to do and I did not have to ask anyone.

Here ya go, Shoeless:

He said it. It should come as no surprise. In Obama's system an individual cannot "do it by yourself", and that's another reason people like myself disagree with Obama's ideology.

Of course watching that video he is actually saying he wishes he could just do an end around declare himself dictator and unleash his CDF on us. You can see he just wants to be king.

Off topic: Just wondering if all out buddies out there who keep telling us that they really don't want to ban guns or take them away, here is the question: If they banned guns and you were told to turn them in would you obey like the sheep you are and turn them in, or hold on to your rights and fight. Of course Al Sharpton says they will come after you with drones LOL they would need an awful lot of them and also wondering would soldiers follow orders and turn on the people and help confiscate and disarm us???

Nice generalization. What do you do for a living again? Sell beer to fat, lazy drunk people? That's a noble profession, what would the world do without people like you?

The problem with your scenario is that it won't ever happen. The government will never ban guns so your question is nothing more than hyperbole. You need to tune out the NRA and think for yourself. Leaders are always more valuable than followers and suckers who fall for anything are usually weak.

You are a fool to believe they will never ban guns, "they" yes the infamous they are already trying unless everything I see and hear are just fabrications. One thing I don't listen to the NRA, I listen to people like Joe BO B Boxer, Feindstein and others like them who have for a long time tried and failed but someday they will sneak in some amendment and the next thing you know..
And you are less valuable because you are a follower I can tell by the way you write your replies. I don't need leaders because I have always lead myself.

If you think the government is going to 'ban guns' then I'll just add you to the list of fruity cakes on the fringe because you've lost your grasp on reality. And if you buy into that BS then you are obviously a follower, a useful one.

I sent this to you a month ago and you didn't respond. Still feel this way? So, are you another one who believes the government is going to ban all guns? If so you're another nut-ball and don't need to read your article.

And so? I'm pretty certain the Missouri STATE legislature is a duly elected and official body prescribed with all the powers provided them in their state constitution and laws. You guys like swingin' that other constitution around telling everyone how its to be interpreted and applied. We wouldn't like that Constitution to get in the way of the state of Missouri, a sovereign state in this here union and their laws and constitution, now would we? So what's wrong with their proposal?

I suppose your reply will somehow imply that the Missouri legislation is just another sign of a plot headed up by the Obama Administration?

And the Missouri State Senate is led with 26 republicans and only 8 democrats. Their House of Representatives has 119 republicans and only 42 democrats. According to the NRA it's the democrats that are a threat to the second amendment. Makes you wonder...
