Granholm still causing job loss, even after leaving office. How sad.

Suzanne Geha should have switched to decaf a lot earlier in her career - maybe she would have survived.

two points:
1 - notice van howe didn't say she shouldn't go ... only how she went

2 - the imbeciles that instigated the idiotic,'tensioned-filled, on top of it every minute of every day news room' format change are the ones responsible for the ratings plunge and 'right sizing' actions. these types are always teflon-coated, i.e., only responsible, and highly paid, for a wonderful idea, not for the poor execution.
ah, to be a consultant.

I don't understand all the negativity. I always thought she was a classy, knowledgable journalist who took her job seriously. I will miss her.

Oh no. I liked Suzanne. :( - lately I've been watching WWMT for all my news because they're very professional and cover everything I need.

Yes, I do find her irritating, but the same can be said of TV-8 in general when it comes to overdramatizing the news, especially the weather. 6" of snow is not a blizzard and their reports are way to complicated, way too long and way too detailed. Just tell me if I need an umbrella or not. LOL Regardless of what caused the split between TV-8 and Suzanne, I think it is sad when an employer can't be kinder to an employee who has put in 30 years. She could have been allowed to resign and have a nice send-off. But maybe she didn't want to do that. Probably if the truth is ever completely known, there will be blame on both sides.

“Is it really that interesting?”

LOL...Agreed, I watch TV8's weather specifically because it's so over the top. I always laugh because it reminds me so much of that SNL skit..."JON-JON MACKEY'S STORM-TRACKER ACCU-CAST!!... When the weather leaves it's house, Jon-Jon bangs it's wife."

I always rib my wife because she likes News 8's weather. I think they are over the top too and always dub their motto of "Storm Team 8" with "Death Watch 8". Four weather people in the studio for a mild thunderstorm or 7" snowfall is being just a bit too dramatic IMO.

As far as Suzy goes? I agree with what Bob said. I couldn't really care less if she's there or not but failing to acknowledge her leaving after 30+ comes across as unprofessional.

i concur with your assessment of her on-air refinement, but journalist, no. it seems every person reciting the 'news' call themselves a journalist. it's ludicrous at best. it's little different than someone publicly citing works of poetry calling themselves a poet for their effort. just another example of the dumbing-down of society, present company excepted of course.

this is the first I've heard of this; guess I should watch the news more often; how old IS Suzanne Geha anyways?

this kind of thing happens every day; sometimes people leave their employment on good terms, sometimes they don't; if her departure had to do with a contract dispute in which neither party was willing to budge, so be it; if her departure is due to financial reasons, so be it, its happening every day everywhere; so, to all of those all upset over WOOD's handling of her "send off," THROW HER A PARTY YOURSELVES

Couldn't happen soon enough. Channel 8 newscasts were annoying, condecending ("Bus Stop Weather", anyone?), their endless self-aggrandizing commercials. Thank God for newspapers.

Katie is leaving CBS, and Matt is leaving the Today Show.
What is going on?
Matt is NOT leaving the Today Show - Meredith is leaving.

Now let's get rid of Kyle Underwood and Terry DeBoer. Terry looks like a hussy every morning.
