I'm on your side with that one Shoeless. Physicians, hospitals and other providers complain that medicare payments are too low so they petition congress to set rates higher which adds to the cost of the program. That's one big reason why costs are rising and out of control.
On the other hand you have to sympathize with Doctors, hospitals and other providers that are going broke. The health care issue is very complex but one that has to be dealt.
It really isn't that complicated. It's basic supply and demand. If one wants cost to go down there needs to be an increase in the supply of doctors and a decrease in the demand for medical care. Otherwise costs go up a little or a lot. Right now we have a shortage of doctors with a projection that it will get worse and an increase in demand, with a projection that will grow exponentially.

I have yet to see any liberal plan that addresses the foundational issues and so the discussion simply turns to how the system can be manipulated so the "right" people get rich and the "wrong" people don't, with both sides having their opinion as to who are the right/wrong people.

If you've ever seen anything from any politician that addresses the basic supply/demand curve, I'd love to see it. Otherwise the future of health care is predictible and not pretty.

My solution at least for myself is to practice preventive health care, its free, of course you have to eat right and exercise and all that but it works for me. I am 56 and have no health problems and take zero medication for anything. Fortunate yes grateful you bet. So people like me should get an opt out of the health care law.

A course on good health its simple. Eat right don't drink soda or to much processed food, not to much alcohol, lots of water, meditate do yoga and get at least 6 to 7 hours of sleep. Oh and here is the #1 best thing you can do believe you have the power to heal yourself. Look in the mirror and say I will never get ill or suffer some dread dis-ease and also know your body inside and out and don't let some doctor who doesn't know you tell you how you should take care of yourself.
