Yes, why not? The politicians are corrupt and they are not caring for anyone except for themselves. I am scared that they can do anything well to the country.

What's you can'? should you have typed a period or a question mark? or left out the "'" mark? What are we to believe?

Whoa is me........ The poor conservatives are all dressed up and there's not an impeachment in sight. Senate Republicans are now actually negotiating with the other side, and rumor has it that the Affordable Care Act is going to survive those talks.....
Will Ted take to the floor again?
Will the House reject whatever the Senate comes up with?
It's a dark day indeed!
Will Baaaab ever have an intelligent comment? It's a typical day indeed!

I don't remember ever indicating I felt Obamacare wouldn't get passed, or that I agreed with the republicans making it part of this govt. spending deal. Not sure, aside from just understanding you're an idiot, why you would be nipping at my ankles, unless you want to get smacked around with your own ignorance like every other time you've tried to knock me off my horse :)

Wow look at the GOP now. They are now delaying a vote for another 24 hours. Nice that I belong to such a grandiose party.

I am very sorry that I voted for the democratic party and Obama. I didn't realize that they were the reincarnation of the Nazi Party and are planning a full socialist takeover of America. I have had talks with the local militia groups who assure me that they have enough people country wide to use force against this tyranny should the need arise. Although I don't support the Tea Party directly, I do understand their position.

After 16 days of wasted conservative bellowing, and a $24 Billion hit to the economy, the baggers can wake up this morning to the realization that their fanatical leaders flopped!

And they get to do it all over in January to show off their ineptitude to the voters.

These losers are nothing but a sad joke!

That depends on who your representative is and how they voted.:

You also may want to consider this as to why what just happened is really a Republican victory.

Look's like a republican victory, eh?...The teaparty House republican's shutdown cost U.S. taxpayers $24 Billion Dollars....Know how much that is? Equal to 6 years of NASA's Space Shuttle Program.......This will be the republican victory that keeps on giving...lol....

And yet come mid-terms the D-baggers are going to get their socialist little behinds nailed to the rafters.

They keep forgetting that the personal mandate for Obamacare kicks in next year. Yup...folks are going to be super-duper pissed when they start figuring out how much this train wreck is going to drain from their bank accounts and they know exactly who to blame for it. My only question is going to be how much damage control the D-baggers are going to be able to come up with in their scramble to dismantle Obamacare in face of very, very angry constituents.

Yeah, it was such a resounding victory for the republicans that 18 of their Senators and 144 of their House Members voted AGAINST it!

How'd that defund and delay tactic work out for you?

It "cost" them $24 Billion Dollars? Explain how not spending nor borrowing any additional dollars is a cost?

As the article points out "Let’s pause for a moment to underscore the point. In early September, a “clean” CR—including sequester cuts—that funded the government into 2014 was considered a Republican victory by both the Republican House Majority Leader and Washington’s most prominent Democratic think tank. Now, just over a month later, the media is describing the exact same deal as Republican “surrender.”

Care to explain which Republican reps will be in danger of losing their seats to D's in 2014 because of their vote on this? There were 144 R's who voted No and 87 R's who voted yes. Which one's are more likely to get primaried? Same with the D's. 198 D's (all of them) voted Yes. Are any of them going to get primaried for that? Here in Michigan among the R's there were 4 Yea and 5 Nay votes. Which one's messed up and will lose their seat?

You should read the article instead of just the headline.

"Now that Republicans are backing off those demands, the press is saying they’ve caved. But that’s like saying that the neighborhood bully has caved because after demanding your shoes and bike, he’s once again willing to accept merely your lunch money.

Most of the press is missing this because most of the press is covering the current standoff more as politics than policy. If your basic question is “which party is winning?” then it’s easy to see the Republicans as losing, since they’re the ones suffering in the polls. But the partisan balance of power and the ideological balance of power are two completely different things. The Nixon years were terrible for the Democratic Party but quite good for progressive domestic policy. The Clinton years were, in important ways, the reverse. The promise of the Obama presidency was not merely that he’d bring Democrats back to power. It was that he’d usher in the first era of truly progressive public policy in decades. But the survival of Obamacare notwithstanding, Obama’s impending “victory” in the current standoff moves us further away from, not closer to, that goal."
