Good point!
My neighbors son was laid off from JCI in Holland a couple of years ago.
I think that would be the right thing for them to do!

Yes it probably would, but I doubt that that will happen. Maybe some of the more recent laid off people would get called back, but the majority I would say will be new hires. probably alot of hiring through temp agencies at first too. How often do you see croporations doing "the right thing"?

I wonder what kind of "experience" you have to have? Most jobs that are available out there, they want you to have some type of degree or 5+ yrs of experience. To bad "on the job experience" doesn't mean anything anymore.

keep up ur bitchen...it will be some company like JC or the government that will keep you in money and food for the rest of your worthless life. You certainly do not have the ambition or the inteligence to make a living on your own with you own company. Until you own your own company and hire people to work in it and pay taxes for those that you employ you need to keep your ignorant mouth shut because you have no stake in the situation. We are the only country in the world that condemns those that provide jobs to the masses. friggin idiots.

WHAT?!?!? Are you complaining that they want experience and don't look enough at experience in the same sentence? OMG. And you people wonder why you are un-employed...

Yes business owners require degrees. And no, sometimes it doesn't matter what degree has been earned. Because earning a degree shows that a person has enough initiative to complete something above the norm. Sitting on a couch slugging down a gallon of Mountain Dew does not entitle you to a job. And the “some of us can’t afford to earn a degree is a BS cop-out”.

Does anybody else find this odd? We're gearing up to produce mass amounts of batteries for cars. What cars? Who is buying cars with batteries? Where do we 'fill em up?'- there is no infrastructure. And is their enough Lithium in the world to meet the US Demand if we did???? Are we ready to put these batteries in manufacturing already? TOO many questions, not enough answers....

Wow, the governor has given a $200,000 tax credit for each job that they are creating. I wonder what the 500 jobs will do to the unemployment rate? Maybe she should spend her time correcting the tax code instead of blocking the tv's.

What is the right thing in your mind. Call the person back because they are? Or call the person back becasue they were a valued employee in the past and are qualified for the new job. And that hiring that person back will make the company and the rest of the work force healthier and stronger in the future.

I think and hope that the really smart people making the really hard decisions will lean toward the latter, which in the real business world would be the right thing to do.

Nice work Jen, you won over 500 jobs. At least someone is getting a job in this worthless state. By the way, at $200k per job, the state gives JC $100 million in tax breaks.

It's all smoke and mirrors, they are giving money to one of the biggest companies that continue to outsource work to foreign countries, In the future you all will be thinking back saying to yourselfs "Denny told me so".
