I would bet the autopsy indicates alcohol, rather than marijuana.....

And here's an offering for those of you who are still in total denial that mj has other uses such as in medicine. Of course I don't expect you to actually read it because that might force you to educate yourself about the good potential instead of only looking at the bad...oh well...thankfully we're in the 21st Century and you'll get left behind in the dust.

so what? your link proves virtually nothing. Without a toxicology report, the shooter could have had either no substances, legal or illegal, or virtually any combination of substances in his system. And even if he had substances in his system, there's no way of knowing whether they contributed to the shooting or what degree they contributed.

The point of my posting this article was to show another example of gun violence where the victims were all family members. No intruder,no issue involving self-protection, no other crime occurring as this shooting took place ... Looks to me more like a guy picks up a handgun, either one he owned, or someone else owned, most likely had available for 'self-protection' and went on a killing spree. This type of gun violence occurs frequently.

Once again, Blue doesn't read the link. Marijuana has now passed cocaine as the most commonly used/co-abused drug in conjunction with Alcohol. It also has unpredictable effects on the user when Marijuana and Alcohol are combined. Yep...let's just keep telling everyone that there's no problem and that it's totally, completely safe and harmless. I'm sure the useful idiots of society are more than willing to believe what they want to hear.

Those figures have ten year changes of 1-3%.....Cocaine use is down and Marijuana use has risen.....and your problem is? Pot smokers are rarely big drinkers.....the world know's that, just not you.....

50 plus percent is 'rarely' in your book? Wow, blue...that must be Obama math at work there. And those are just the ones seeking treatment for addiction (hint...that means they're 'big' drinkers), not even those who go on using without seeking help.

Why don't you explain how a background check is going to stop a killer that will not get a background check? Here is your big chance to shine.
Pretty simple:

Killer - "I'd like to buy a gun."
Gun Store Owner - "OK, but first we have to do a background check."
Killer - "I don't want a background check."
Gun Store Owner - "Sorry then, I can't sell you a gun."

What stat are YOU talking about?.....49.4% are those that abuse alcohol alone.....My basic point is, marijuana is the mildest threat of any of these....alcohol, cocaine...even tobacco.....

another leap in logic. You and lil stinker related?

This study only says 50+ percent of "treatment admissions" co-abuse alcohol and MJ or other drugs. It doesn't even remotely suggest that 50+ percent of marijuana "abusers" also abuse alcohol or visa versa. I don't see raw numbers of ANY kind mentioned here. Also it says nothing about who or why or how these substance show up as treatment admissions. Could be that as substance abusers they just have a greater tendency to seek treatment. This study says nothing even close to what your leap of logic is taking you.

The study was government sponsered, and I'd dare guess money to fund said study was supplied by the major drug companies...and any other entity concerned that a native plant could negatively effect their produce line of manufactured "good" drugs.

prescription pain meds, in particular, are highly addictive and dangerous. Last figures I saw on the number of deaths related to pain med ODs were at least 15,000/ year in the U.S. And these numbers were just deaths from prescription pain meds. The numbers of people addicted to them are staggering. I don't have figures on that but it could easily be found on the web.

Where is your logic coming from? Personal experience? I know people that just drink, and I know people that just smoke MJ in moderate amounts. I've been to events where the alcohol consumption is extremely high, yet no evidence of MJ. You must live behind closed doors.

And my point is that it's used in combination with alcohol (or another drug) more often then it's used alone. Care to tell the class what happens when you mix alcohol with marijuana?

Spouse who works in the field of drug addiction treatment. Your 'personal experience' compared to theirs is so limited, it's laughable.
