I jumped on a Greyhound bus January 23rd. Headed to West Palm Beach, FL. In Grand Rapids I had one interview in 5 months. Here I had 3 in one week and already landed a full time job with benefits! One happy camper here.. Wishing I would have done this awhile back now.

I'm looking to get out Michigan too. Selling my house though is the problem. I think I'll check into that Lighthouse program.

If you are thinking about it, just do it...it will probably be the best decision you have ever made in your life. It was for me. :)

I made the move 3 years ago to Phoenix. Sold my home on a land contract bought a home here. My wife and I both have good jobs and we have doubled our income, plus no snow, and always nice weather. Sorry, Michigan I am not coming back. Since I moved the company I worked for there folded so it was a good move for me

In six weeks I'm moving to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
I recently found a job working for the casino industry there. I'll be moving to St. Thomas.
Michigan is becoming the "Hollywood" of the midwest.
The first movie is called " Blown Away"!
Jennifer Granholm is the producer.

When I sit and think about it, I know many people who have moved out of Michigan. Some moved out w/ the intentions of coming back once enough money was raised, and the others have left Michigan for good. My husband & I have thought about leaving, but he has a stable job and at the moment in our lives, I couldn't see us moving away from family and friends. But, who knows what the future holds.

A lot of the places I've seen or have applied for simply state 'Locals only please'. PLUS, I had heard that some placement services see the Michigan area codes and don't bother picking the phone up, or returning calls. I'm all for relocating for the short term and moving for the long haul. Its tough with a young family... Sure wish the stimulus $$ would have went to the average joe...

This is Ironic, The jobless rate in the us is detering the illegals jumping the borders and more of them going back home. That's one for the books to actually see them going back to mexico. Everybody need to contact their senators/congress and tell them your opinion on the E-VERIFY program, Which is 99% effective.

“Have a nice day!”

My husband will be going to the Deltaplex this weekend. I'll go anywhere. I'm sick of wondering when the next layoff is. And I hate the weather here! Always have!

I dedcided to go back to school after my company relocated from the traverse city are to mexico. I have one semester left and a ton of student loans now. There is no way i can stay in this state even though i love michigan. But i can go to n carolin south carolina georgia florida and make a double the salary in pretty much any of those states that i would make here in michigan. Thank god we didn't buy a home here in the GR area when i moved down here to finish my degree.

If I can remeber right, Grandholm said in her inaugural speech, "she was going to blow us away!"

Even trying to go back to school to 're-invent' ones self is proving to be a dead end and with the family, going back to school is also proving tough.

How do you think she got where she is. She's good at blowing.
