Gotta love how the left espouses the virtues of a democracy when it goes their way, but when that vote goes against what they want they haul out the lawyers and demand a recount.

So, St Mary Jane, when the vote to legalize marijuana fails in Michigan will you and your fellow paper-lickers finally shut the hell up and respect the peoples' "voice"?

Yeah there has been many times where I demanded a government to sue it's people over a vote they made.

I have no idea what point you're trying to make Dingle. Michigan hasn't voted to make it legal yet. What I'm talking about is the vote that took place in the city of Grand Rapids and it didn't fail, it passed.

When you and everyone accepts the voice of the people in several States, including D.C., the AMA, and several University studies, that cannibus (marijuiana) does have medicinal applications and people should be allowed to use it accordingly, under a Doctor's supervision just like addictive pain killing drugs...without any further harrassment.

Deal??

Sure...but then let's treat it just like every other addicting pain killing, mild altering drug and make it available by prescription only through a pharmacy with quality and potency regulated by the FDA and set standards for dosage and frequency of intake. Works for me.

Sure after we increase the penalties for improper use and any illegal activity with it.

I kind of have to agree with you. I have a medication that says to be careful after taking of use of heavy equipment or such. However, I know it knocks me flat on my but and puts me out. I only take it at night before I go to bed. I would never ever drive after taking it as I know what it does. However, what are the penalties for those that cause an accident and kills someone taking a legal drug prescribed by said doctor? After all the drug is not illegal.

Oh, more potent ones! So no matter the strength we should have the same rules. Maybe we should have the same dosages too. All drugs should be legal is what you are saying. Or all drugs should be illegal. It is hard to argue with your logic. I don't mean that in a good way either.

Yes that is personal responsibility. Because of legal reasons in our sue happy society they put that on the bottle to warn you. Some kids die from peanuts. People responded differently to medicines or some don't at all to it. The Jury can decide the rest.

If they are blood tested after the accident and they find the substance in the bloodstream, they could and would be charged with OWI...this would also apply to any OTC drug that can impair your ability to drive, even Benadryl or cold medications. The thing is, law enforcement would have to a) suspect impairment and b) know what to do the tox test for..it's not a 'one test catches everything' sort of thing; there are hundreds of substances possible.

I will never understand the marijuana stigma. Its really not as dangerous as people make it out to be. All studies done pro or con are always slanted. And then there are those of you who want to make it a prescription drug REGULATED BY THE FDA!!! are you kidding me!! you actually trust that corrupt worthless agency. Or the crowd that says lets make it legal and tax it like alcohol and cigarettes again we have to give the government their cut. Stupid. It just needs to be decriminalized and just let people grow it for there own use as long as you don't try to make a profit from it no one gets hurt or thrown in jail for having a couple of joints. So tired of this ridiculous debate.

We need'nt make it any more complicated than it need be....same penalties as drunk driving....anything that impairs the ability......i would likely add texting, cell phone conversations, etc......BTW, i worked with someone on oxy, and they are kinda drunk acting...definatly impaired.....

Yes....do you remember when that song was kinda a mantra, back in the 60-70's?......After his third scotch, the bleary-eyed father lashes out, yelling...."You hippy kids will never have that sh*t legal, as long as i'm alive"......Who knew he was right, eh?....Loved Steppenwolf and John Kay.....
