Yes I did. My will is my own just as your will is your own. Those who would use brainwashing techniques on children for nefarious reasons should be taken to the wall and executed. Of course as anything, the double-edge sword swings both ways as there are many who would say that that's what the Bible and the Christian philosophy attempt to do. Ultimately, we are all dead in the end. I prefer going out in defense of what's real. But what is real?

My experience is that at first I didn't have a very good connection to my own will, and I knew it, so I began to observe my inner world and what was behind my choices (with the help of Alkuajatus, I hadn't really even considered stuff like this before).

I noticed that my choice of education, line of work and even girlfriend was based on images of "success" etc what I had picked up along the way. So those images were real, I just hadn't seen them like that before. However, those images were untrue, since they weren't "me" or my own will. As I had this insight, I could let go of those images, and I was more free, but the "digging" didn't stop there.

Anyway, the more I managed to let go of outer ideas and thoughts, the more free I became, and that freedom is real, since it also comes into practice. There is no way I would go back, because that would be to give up freedom.

The next time that some nut decides to go on a shooting rampage at one of the local colleges, I sincerely hope that they take the time to identify some of these Marxist professors and act accordingly.

No one has brainwashed more people in this country than the conservative Christians. It's not the Marxists who we need to fear, it is the far right Christian monsters who prey on the simple and the uneducated by bastardizing the true teachings of Jesus and warping it into a message of death, hatred, prejudice, insularity and callousness.

Yeea, like the right ever got what Charles Dickens was getting at in his writings. And J.D. Salinger's Catcher in the Rye was considered pornography by them. Even twenty years after he wrote it no less. I remember it well them trying to ban it from school libraries as such. Not a clue what it was getting at.

Ya, the right knows what "classical literature" is about.

I agree! Especially in the Black neighborhoods. It's not like the baby negroes go to school anyway. It will save taxpayers a lot of money.

Shut down public schools???? really??? How about keep politics out of the classroom?? I "teach" but not what I think is best or even how I know it should be done. That classroom filled with individuals with unique learning styles, belongs to our government now. What once was a profession that required the ability to create lessons which fostered individuality and the ability to think, is now one that only requires the ability to read the government provided scripts and enough self control to not end up in jail. I know my students. I know what each one needs to become productive citizens that will not aspire to live off of the shirt tails of the working man. Problem is the cookie cutter lessons I MUST follow in order to keep my job. As a 22 year educator with a Master's degree, I've watched as big money and our government rolled into schools (public, charter, and private) and destroyed our childrens' chance to excel :-( Check with your board of education or step into my shoes and you will quickly find the problem with education.

Small minds are easily amused and get pissed easily. Lol.
Do you have any facts to prove what you just stated? Other than media misinforming you or government shit talk because the union encourages teachers to unite and be heard. Do you have any idea what this "school reform" is already doing to harm our children? No more kindergarten, school counselors, less text books and funds to provide tools to those that cannot pay can get assistance in order to have clothes and supplies needed to get an education? Get your detail straight before making uneducated comments.

BTW I'm not part of the problem. I chose to rally at the Capitol but also have chosen to not be part of these union entities.

I find it hard to disagree but I must say that the atheists and left wing propaganda machine know as the MSM have just as much dirt on them as the Christians. I can say this because I don't abide to either faction.

How about you come on over and do mine for me?
I pray you have no children that require a teacher who is brave enough to step outside the box in order to give him/her the education they deserve. By your standards, teachers that do that kind of stuff are "the problem"
I love what I do. Pay is not an issue for me nor is being evaluated. I have no issue with being graded on my performance because the performance of my students speaks for itself. My CRIME is wanting to ensure that those of my students that need me to spend time teaching them GET that time. Unfortunately regulations have been put in place that expect us to follow procedure.
Here is a REAL LIFE example of what that procedure looks in the classroom with REAL students.
This timeline we must adhere to states that on week 3 of the second 9 weeks, teacher A must be teaching students long division. She knows that her students have not mastered their multiplication facts, nor can they divide well when doing a problem such as 12/9. If teacher A feels it would benefit those children to be taught the multiplication facts that they have not yet mastered she/he is reprimanded for not sticking to the timeline.
Essentially the logic of those in charge goes like this: by March when High Stakes testing takes place, teachers must be sure their students KNOW THE TEST!!! Why? Better scores means fatter bankroll for Parish and school bank accounts. So they expect us to make sure that we get those kids who are "top notch" as much knowledge as they need to carry their school to the top of the money pile.
My logic is EVERY student deserves the chance to succeed!!! How can those students who need teachers to teach a concept for maybe a week more ever catch up?
Oh Mommy and Daddy right? What if let's say, they have no one at home that can spend time flashing multiplication cards until he/she masters that skill, nor are these parents able to hire a private tutor to teach this child????? The way I see it is they deserve my time. I am capable of designing lessons which will challenge high achievers, motivate and boost those middle of the road students, and allow those a step behind to feel what it feels like to succeed.
So I guess I AM THE PROBLEM after all.
