They care more about limitless profits than they do about their country.

Anyone remember how the stock market at 14,000 under GW was "not important" and "it means nothing for the economy"?? NOW, King Obama personally escorted the stock market to the 14,000 mark and it is exciting and extremely important AND it means that the economy is booming and there will not ever be another recession! WOW!

Because at this point in time it signifies a recovery....to some? Suppose that might be a reason?

I've already voiced my stance on the importance of the state of the stock market so I won't get into it again.

I know it rubs some the wrong way that a recovery would be experienced during Obama's presidency, but, some times things just don't work out just right.

Truthfully? I would be thrilled is there actually wa a real recovery on Obama's watch. I would also be thrilled if people like you and Blue would acknowledge that Obama isn't actually trying to create a recovery, but rather, the illusion of one. Of course, I remember Blue saying that 8% unemployment may be the "new normal" along with $4.00 gas prices and all the other prices that have risen during this "recovery." In truth? Neither you or Blue care about this so called "recovery". All you care about is saying how wonderful Obama is doing without any accountability for the massive debt he has run up. Well, to give you credit, you did say you were disappointed that Obama hasn't acted more like a dictator.

So show me where Obama is creating the "illusion". Because you say it because that's what you believe does not make it a reality.
And while you're at it show me where Bush wasn't creating the illusion the economy was doing just fine.

Show me where I said I have been disappointed in Obama for not acting more like a dictator. As you're likely talking about my being disappointed that Obama didn't stand back a let us go over the "fiscal cliff" is not being a dictator. He didn't say 'these are the terms I campaigned on, these are the terms I was elected on and I'm sticking by them. Simpson-Bowles laid down the terms that the Bush temporary tax cuts would be allowed to expire, along with other measures to return us to fiscal responsibility and that's the way it will be. You want debt reduction, less spending etc. so you've got it.'
He would be "dictating" nothing. Simply allowing to happen what others had made the provision(s) for.

Instead he blinked making 99% of the temporary tax cuts permanent and all the right-wing can do is claim a victory while still claiming Obama refuses to compromise on anything. Only liars, crooks, cheaters, juveniles and disingenuous people do that.

This may interest you Really as you believe Obama is creating the "illusion" of a recovery.
You may not agree with this but remember this comes from head of BLS appointed under Bush.
"Keith Hall, who served as Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics from 2008 until 2012, said in an interview Friday that there is no way someone at the agency could change any of the data from its two monthly employment surveys. The significant improvement in the unemployment rate may reflect normal statistical errors in the sampling process, he said, but that has nothing to do with manipulation."
http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/former-bush-...

Maybe Bush appointed him knowing he (Bush) would no longer be in office so the real data could be the responsibility of the next president?

Oh oh. Oh no, say it isn't so. This must be another fabrication of Obama's:
"Who Is The Smallest Government Spender Since Eisenhower? Would You Believe It's Barack Obama?"
http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/05...

So that WOULD HAVE TO MEAN if we experienced the best recovery under Reagan, recovery REQUIRES big spending.

I guess Reagan still holds as the Standard Bearer of conservatism.

I've mentioned that before, as the deficit numbers and the costs of the wars, just don't match up to blaming, this administration......it's something many are taught, not to believe.....

I told you well over a year ago that the only indicator the stock market actually is is how well the richest are doing. And if you think for a moment because people's retirement funds are in there also that is an indicator they too will do, well the crashes in the markets should tell you something. Should but won't.
That's the last I have to say to you.
Not so sure about that--stocks in a growth market and bonds/fixed funds in a declining market--investment basics 101.

When corn goes on sale everyone stocks up-- and only buy what they need when prices are high--same goes with the market but the uneducated do it backward.

I'm a shop rat with a really nice balanced portfolio that's soared in value over the last year. I could really stand 4 more years like this one--LOL

If anyone fails to take control then that's their fault.

Ditto!

I can understand and will gladly join those who think too many businesses have allowed greed to destroy this country's economy, but I can't help thanking my lucky stars that my financial picture has vastly improved. Not to where it was before the crash, but a whole lot better than when the DOW was headed south of 6k.
