It all depends on a persons opinion of where government should be. In this instance, the City of GR signed the contract and is going back on their word. Not surprising at all. However, there are many other issues that the people demand that we get involved in other rights whereas others think we should stay out of. I don't believe in infringing on others freedoms. Therefore, someone doesn't tell me what to do and I won't tell them if both are legal under the law.

I can give my opinion, but they also have the right to ignore it. My philosphy class is awesome. Everyone can give their opinion without an argument.

So it's approved and then disapproved, and then approved again (but just for awhile). Does that makes sense to anyone?
This is what happens when government puts it's big, dumb foot where it has no experience. Rather appropriate symbol of the bigger picture our country is facing right now.

Government should be involved in creative expression about as much as they should be involved in the free market and health care business!

Keep government's big, inept boot out of Americans' lives as much as possible.

Ok we'll remember that one when some cry baby conservative wants the government to step in and ban a piece of art work they deem inappropriate. LOL, you're too funny!

You do that, you petite little flower.

What's funny is every conservative I've spoken with, and trust me that's been a lot, has had no problem with you goofy progressive nutballs submitting your classless, fecal and urine-based form of self-expression and intolerance.

LOL, you're way too stupid!(but please keep representing the left)

Oh, please, keep submitting your classless works of "art" that you think are sooooo impressive. All it does is show how classless you progressives truly are. More and more Americans are seeing you progressives for just what you are....classless, racist, profane bullies.

Yeah? Well most if those artists you're visiting at art prize are progressive nutballs. Do you express to them you're feelings on progressives too? It's funny to see so many Jenison and Hudsonville housewives intermingling with old hippies and flaming liberals down art prize. It's not reciprocal you know though. Not many libs would be caught dead at some Kirk Cameron movie or at tea bag convention.

Let's take a look at this story for a moment:

Liberal artist, Gary Bokor, who doth crow too much when asked about the graffiti his anti gun violence art, "erase", supposedly induced from some mysterious gun supporter.

"I think it struck a chord on more than one level", the self-promoting artist chuckled when asked about the Greek phrase "Molon Labe" that was painted on the exterior wall of the church exhibiting the gun drawing.

OK, so we're supposed to believe some conservative, redneck, gun-toting, Bible-clinging "teabagger" not only would take the time to commit a property destruction act, and do so by citing GREEK, would do it on the side of a church. Uhhuh. Sure!

OR, could it possibly be the same anti-gun liberal (who likely spent hundreds of hours drawing an "assault rifle" in order to have fellow anti-gun liberals erase it in some predictably obvious symbolic eradication of guns) in order to attract attention to his artwork (and political statement) just might have committed this vandalism himself?? AND, because he's an artist he just couldn't help but use a little flair by citing a Greek phrase??

Considering who stood more to gain by this act, and the recent acts of public defamation, vandalism and crime by the neo-lib progressive goofballs (to say nothing of the absolute ZERO evidence of conservative destructive acts) there's little doubt as to what side of the political fence said Greek-citing vandal resides.

Thanks, Farty, for creating this thread that shows what levels you radical liberal nutjobs will go to try and astro-turf your narratives despite reality and common sense.

Again, you do my job for me, Farty, by citing evidence of the difference between how you radical, narrow-minded, petrified progressive lunatics view people of opposing opinions, and how the rest of the normal population tolerates your crazy, intolerant arses!

One side accepts and enthusiastically embraces, while the other hates. Now tell me again, who is more likely to graffiti the side of a church in an attempt to make some social statement?

LOL ... PLEASE keep beating yourself to a pulp with your own posts!

Well you do make a point, most gun toting, drooling rednecks wouldn't know any Greek especially when most have a limited grasp on English. Any way you have brought up the classic consertarded argument in an attempt to spin your way into something that mirrors your warped view of reality. Whatever happened to taking responsibility? Why can't you accept the actions of the people fighting your cause? The whole "no I didn't --- you did it" argument may work with 4 year olds but to adults you look like someone who is a bit mentally challenged.

I won't get into your interpretation of this artist's piece and how it exemplifies what I have been saying about the average Grand Rapids citizen and any kind of level of art appreciation. Art is subjective. Art is meant to stir thought and creativity. This artist has said from the beginning that this piece is meant to jump start the conversation of gun violence and that is not an anti gun piece. It's about erasing gun violence which any single rational person with an IQ over 80 understands is a real problem. Just because someone addresses the issue does not automatically mean they want government jackboots to knock down doors and take your pistol! You people are so over the edge and batshit crazy that you have lost all ability to discuss and converse reasonably. The very fact that you labeled his piece as "anti-gun" proves my point exactly and I would like to thank you for winning my argument (and this whole thread!) for me! It's like I showed up at a knife fightin party with a 50 cal machine gun!

And in typical progressive fashion, you never once have decided that just perhaps the person who vandalized this entry should have kept their hands OFF something that isn't theirs? Another one was vandalized yesterday. Apparently there are a whole lot of 12 year olds masquerading as adults at Art Prize this year as they can't seem to keep their hands off items that don't belong to them. Just one more example of how NOT teaching children respect for themselves and others is coming back to bite this country in the behind. But, by all means, let's just blame conservatives and "hicks" and people who "know nothing about art" for this stuff. Yeah, that accomplishes a lot.**Shaking head***

I hate to tell you this, but you just blew the entire Obama presidency out of the water with that epiphany, as well as you voting cattle hypocrites' reasoning for continuing to support that "4 year old" mentality from the celebrity in chief. LOL

Regardless, you failed to address an important point in the reason why I think there's a better chance either the artist or some anti-conservative, anti-gun lunatic committed this crime.

Who had more to gain?

How would vandalizing a church help "2nd Amendment righters"? How would taken their argument to a criminal level help them?

You said it yourself. The artist has a social statement to make and wanted enough people to contribute to his piece by way of eraser to make it. What better way to get attention than some scandal? He got press time over it, so mission accomplished.

I have to remind you again what side of the political fence is better known for graffiti, crime, violence, filth, crapping on cop cars, and disrespecting the church, and YES, committing a crime and making it look like it was the other side so they could have at least something to base their narrative.

FLASHBACK: when Dr. Amy Bishop shot her colleagues, the Left speculated that she was a Tea Partier. In fact, she was an Obama donor.

FLASHBACK: Discovery Channel hostage-taker was supposedly a climate change denier. In fact, he was an enviroweenie, D.Channel intern.

FLASHBACK: the census-taker was supposedly hanged by extremist anti-tax Tea Partiers. In fact, he hanged himself.

FLASHBACK: the Times Square Bomber was speculated to be upset about [Health Care Reform]. In fact, he was jihadi scum.

Here's another incident of a liberal faking something to set up a hoax:

http://collegeinsurrection.com/2013/05/wyomin...

Face it, Fart, the left is steeped with incidents of faking a crime, or falsely accusing conservatives to perpetuate what usually is a false narrative. Considering who had more to gain in this graffiti of the church crime, and who's more inclined to break the law and disrespect a church, there's valid reason to think this is nothing but another radical progressive lunatic.

Actually, we haven't seen this level of debate from an anti-conservative radical in some time. I'm certain this is some reincarnation of one of the atheists who took their ball and went home a year ago, but compared with the remaining half dozen mind-numbingly dumb liberals on Topix, like Bob and Pippy, Fart is a breath of fresh air!! LOL

It's likely no one will ever know who vandalized the church, and it might well have been some gun-lovin' moron, but I contend that common sense and history points to another example of radical progressive astro-turfing in order to perpetuate a false narrative. It's become the left's modus operandi!

Then again, you might be right and in the face of logic we're about to see Fart's head explode. LOL

If you're referring to the hanging terrorist at The Bob, no need for the government to do what we taxpaying citizens are better at doing ourselves.

The comparison between the hanging terrorist and the Calder flower fiasco is about as poignant an example of government's ineptness as could be:

1) Hanging Terrorist: Torn down in a day by the taxpaying business owner.

2) Calder Flowers: Complaints considered and debated. Ruled inappropriate and slated to be taken down, but then reconsidered to go back up again. Then re-slated for tear down. Then decided to stay up for a little bit until the artists' son who has Downs Syndrome could see it. Then taken down, two weeks later.

And you want government to control your healthcare ...
