i notice this too when i first turn on the water, i usually let it run for a minute or two anyways. im in wyoming.

INteresting, I live in Wyoming and have never experienced that. I think the water quality is very good. I have noticed that in Grand Rapids at a property we have there.

5 times out of 10 when I drink the water, I let it run for 20 seconds or so each time, but can still smell clorine half the time. I wonder if someone monitors the water there, or is that the government's job?

The water treatment facility adds chlorine to the water every month or so to kill off the microbes.
