NTSB: Any number of things could have gone wrong

The National Transportation Safety Board held a press conference this afternoon to discuss further the investigation into the cause of a helicopter crash atop Spectrum Health yesterday in downtown Grand Rapids.

On the national news they said this would have never happened if there wasn't any layoff in the inspection dept. Now who is laying off all these people the MR BUSH IS get him and the GOP out of there, we need our government back and get this country back in working order!

ToniQ's comment was one of ignorance and insensitivity. Aeromed routinely inspects their choppers and always has one chopper offline for complete maintenance. Their self inspections far exceed anything required by the FAA. This crash would have happened regardless of any layoffs. It's obvious ToniQ would blame Bush or any republican for anything bad happening in his/her life. Get a life, and stop being so bitter and insensitive!

I'm very thankful Ray made it out alive and was resourceful to find a place of safety. My prayers are with you.

FAA does not inspect the companies do and as a aircraft mechanic I can say that the inspections and maintenance are done very well. There are many sets of eyes looking at these aircraft and there are many checks and balances. Medical helicopters are probally the best maintained aircraft in the world because of the job they do. I never want an incident comming back on me because of something I did not do or did wrong. I can say that 99% of aircraft mechanics feel this way and the 1% do not stay employed long.

I am just repeating what the news said. Are you the one of the bitter nurses that doesn't know when the time is right to get another job? I work in ER and saw many nurses who could use a differentjob. BUSH needs to go 4 yrs ago.

My very wise grandmother used to say: "Belive little that you hear and nothing you read." You make a lot of assumptions for someone so out of touch.
Though this crash is tramatic - we are all blessed in so many ways. It could have been far worse.
After 21 years of service this is the first crash.
No commercial airline can say that.
More than 12,000 safe landings! We should focus on the positive aspects of AeroMed. Thank GOD it wasn't a real "delivery" with doctors, nurses and criticaly ill patients.
Get over your political whining and see the forest for the trees. I sincerely doubt that Clinton can fix every little crisis much less Obama!

toniq get a life dem or rep had nothing to do with this i worked on the clean up of this crash & ray did a great job & there is no one dead because of his great flying thanks ray

The national news made no reference to THIS particular crash verses layoffs in general. You are trying to push two unique stories together. Come back when you have background to support your assumptions.

Sadly, if you work in the ER and find time to post in a public forum I think you might need to rethink your own job before you tell another to find a new job.
