I have a question regarding all of the above comments; Do they even teach English and writing skills at area high schools anymore? The spelling, lack of punctuation, and seeming inability to write a simple sentence should bother you guys more than some stupid dance club.
And yes, as an adult I will walk into anywhere I see fit to bring my kid out...period. As for Mr. Hentschel...lose the attitude punk.

my parents say i cant go back to the club and i think it a load of crap. what are they going to do keep me from school if someone brings a gun. they cant protect us all the time. i will go back to the club with or without my parents premission. i dont really care i was 15 yards from the person with the gun. who cares i dont if they had better guards then stuff like this wouldent happen. but still i dont care i will be going back!!!!
It is such a shame that a young person, such as yourself, doesn't really care. You made this very clear, as you stated it THREE times...But you know what? You do care, only you do not know it. Evidently you are trying to look or sound "cool" or you have been "programed" and have no feelings about others, except for yourself. Such a shame.

We send the police in. They call it profiling, we take the cops out they say we don't care.

it was not a real gun the police dident find any shells so how do we know if it was real. if they found some it would be diff. but i dont think it was a real gun and i was there it was to quiet to be a gun and my kids will be able to go untell i find out some hard edvince about the shooting.
I'm curious. How do you know the police didn't find any shells, and how do you know if the police even looked for shells? I bet you would be "trippen" if your kid was standing outside when the shots were fired. Don't you find it all a little scary?

Did you notice that a lot of the comments with the bad spelling, lack of punctuation, etc., came from people claiming to be parents? If you ask me, that's a little scary too (if they really are parents).

Maybe our kids should be doing their homework, learning how to spell and to use proper grammar and manners instead of looking for trouble at dance clubs. And if they were disciplined by parents who care, instead of being afraid of them, they would have some self respect and pride. They wouldn't need to join a gang to get it.

In regard to the statement, Not allowing parents in the club. All parents are allowed to enter at any time, however we will insist that they are with a staff escort. The reason being, Are they really a parent? What is there true intention upon entering? This policey is in place to insure the safety of all kid's in the club along with many other safeguards. Thank-You. the staff@Club Revolution.

Setting a earlier curfew and enforcing it, would be a start! As Mr. Riechert said, city officials need to think of something fast. All the "great" things to do in Grand Rapids isn't going to make the city any money if people are too afraid to leave thier homes! Let the city leaders spend one night "in" Grand Rapids, I bet they will find a way right quick.

Stupid people....
When will someone read the history of Al Capone and figure out what causes gangs!
And the number one most dangerous gang in Grand Rapids of course....is the gang of church/police state fascists who control the media!
Those who give up freedom and liberty for the promise of security deserve neither!
Believe it or not....more freedom and liberty would bring more security!
But those freedom hating church/police state Republicans don't want you to know that!
I don't want to admit stupidity, but I will agree that it wouldn't hurt to learn the history of gangs.

I guess its considered a private party and they can choose who to allow inside, but i dont know....I thought it seemed like a pretty safe place on the inside during all the excitement and panic. All of the security guards pushed kids to one area and made every one stay out of harms way.
If they are charging a cover charge and are licensed to run the olace, it is not a private club. As it is, if my kids are in there and i want them out and if security will not let me in, I guess my only course of action would be to call the police, and sue the living shit out of the owners.

I agree with the curfew idea. Let's star off with enforcing the laws that are already in place. How about setting up a detention center for curfew violators and then fining the parents for not keeping track of their kids?
