How tragic but according to reports I've heard, neither could swim and neither were wearing a life jacket. If this is true, the lack of common sense is unbelievable.

What a tragic accident. I can't swim very well and normally carry a lifejacket with me. There have been times I went out in a canoe and totally forgot to bring one. I feel horrible for the families of these victims, what a tragic way to die.

Ok, is there a reason why both were in the water?? Yes it is tragic that this happened, but is really confusing? If they couldnt swim, maybe the best thig to do is hang on for dear life & start hollering for help?? Paddle boats are very hard to tip over unless you are trying to tip them. Plus are very hard to get back unto. If I couldnt swim then thats the first thing I would of grabbed, a life saving device. But of course the paddle boat could of done the same thing. I would be looking a lil closer at this case or maybe wood 8 doesnt have all the details AGAIN??

They were both in the water because they were trying to help each other get back into the paddle boat. He probably tried to pull the other guy in and the boat tipped, so then they probably tried to lift one another into the boat. It is just a tragic accident...most people can say they would do this or that, but when it comes down to it, you may never know exactly what you would do in any given situation.
