I can't think of a strong enough punishment! Maybe we should leave them for months without food and water and see what happens to them

If Michael and Theresa Schumacher sold the home in a foreclosure sale more than a month ago then they no longer own the home, so why is it necessary to publish their names for this story? Are the Schumachers suspected of having something to do with this case? Who are the new owners? What are their names? Surely that must be public record as well.

Where these animals that were left behind after the forclosure? I mean, did they die because of neglect? Or, were these animals abused before hand and they just left behind the remains?

Don't get me wrong, either scenario is completly unacceptable!

How anyone can do this to a helpless, trusting and loving animal is beyond me.

After reviewing the pictures, It looks like this was abuse that has been happening for quite some time. Even if there had been no occupants since Jan 2008

It states that the home is abandoned.

Its a sad fact that pets and other animals are getting left behind more and more with all of the foreclosures. THe humane society and rescue groups are overloaded with pets that couldn't go with their owners. This is so sad.

“Definitely maybe.”

This is beyond sick! There is absolutely no excuse for this! Anyone capable of this sort of cruelty to an animal has no heart, no conscience, and is a pathetic excuse for a human being. I hope they track down the person or persons responsible for these atrocities and make examples of them, because there are other scumbags out there that are doing this to animals as we speak that need to know that it is seriously unacceptable. I will never understand what some jerks are capable of.

This is bad!! But just by reading the news of how horrible children are being treated does it truly surprise anyone how animals are being treated!!
I love kids and animals and would never harm either but unfortunatly I can't save them all.....If I could I would though!!

This is beyond words! Hi don't understand how people can stand by and watch their animals suffer like this. If money was a problem, there are organizations that would have helped them. What i would like to know is what was supposed to be done with the animals at the time of forclosure, was it the owners responsibility to find the animals somewhere to go or was it the responsibility of the people who forclosed the house?? Either way someone needs to be accountable. This is beyond wrong and someone needs to be punished!

Correct, but it also states that the home was sold in a foreclosure sale. Whomever purchased the home at that sale needs to be questioned as well.

I am just confused. The authorities seem to believe that the previous owners were responsible for these animals. That may be possible, but there's probably more (as there usually is) that isn't being reported.

The home was abandoned and no one was living there. The animals were left behind to die. Just because a home is sold at foreclosure does NOT mean that someone new moved right in! I'd bet that THE BANK now owns the home.

Personally, I think their names & photographs of what they did to these PETS should be published AND posted WHEREVER they are living now. They DESERVE to be punished for what they did.

If you are going to have a pet. It is 100% YOUR responsibility to take care of that pet. They do not go with the house, like the carpeting does!

Don't click the link! I know I won't.
I would think that the homeowners knew they were being foreclosed on, they knew they would have to vacate the home, but lacked the common sense or sensibility to find the animals new homes before they left. Whoever they are.......shame on them. They are pathetic.

Oh my God!! These people should be tortured and starved to death themselves!! There is just no excuse for this kind of thing!
