You're wrong. The president cannot introduce legislation to the House and Senate. Only Congress can.

You and Sandy need to study up on the Constitution and legislative powers.

Perhaps you are unaware that all President's send legislation up that they want passed? Perhaps you are also unaware that one of your heroes, Harry Reid, has said that anything coming from the House is DOA but he will entertain bills suggested by the President? Now whose the dimwit? Nice try at deflecting though....I give you an E for effort.

What do you think would be emanating from MSNBC and the rest of the MSM hacks if the KKK purchased it?

Mr. Green Jeans wouldn't take a bid from Glenn Beck because he wanted someone whose "ideology" was more in line with his own…therefore he turns down American Money for Arab Oil Money! The quintessential hypocrite’s laughing all the way to the bank!

The statement issued by Current TV regarding the dismissal of the Beck offer validates progressive’s ideology….. They see ALL conservatives as their ONLY enemy.
Current had 22K prime-time viewers... a pretty low number for a cable channel that claims to be aligned with the majority of Americans!

Al Jazeera, Al Qaeda’s propaganda machine, thanks to Gore, has been given direct access to our domestic airwaves and the perfect forum to proselytize their Islamic fundamentalism. They were thrown out of Iraq for fraudulent reporting.
Al Jazeera is anti American, anti gay, anti women, anti Christian, anti Semitic and routinely broadcasted messages from Bin Laden and other Al Qaeda operatives calling for violence against you, me, and any other "Zionist" innocent civilians.
I conclude Al Jazeera willfully is attempting to overthrow the US government by aiding terrorists under the cover of journalism. I doubt Gore is so isolated that he missed these minor details.
No surprise that a con man like “Al Gozeera” would sell out America to this Islamist terrorist media outlet and betray his country. He chose his side.
Treason: I vote guilty.

My Gawd woman could you be more wrong on a regular basis?!!
Why I don't ignore your posts is beyond me.
First: The president cannot 'introduce legislation'!!!!! Second: It is Rep Jose Serrano who is proposing an amendment to repeal the 22nd Amendment, something he has done since 1997.
The president can introduce legislation to congress through congressman, which is how The Affordable Health Care Act happened, as well as many other items over the years.

In an 11 June 1963 speech broadcast live on national television and radio, President John F. Kennedy unveiled plans to pursue a comprehensive civil rights bill in Congress.

BINGO! Legislation introduced.

If he can't get at least a 50-50 chance for passage, he will have to lobby long before any thoughts of submitting. This was the process that mired Clinton's healthcare initiatives early on. If he could have submitted himself, he probably would have.

You're just arguing semantics, so here goes: Does a president have the right to PASS legislation?- not without congress passing it first. Can he INTRODUCE it? Of course.

So no one here is exactly correct or incorrect. Instead of just insulting people you should try debating the facts.

"the money comes from the people responsible for 9/11?"

Really?

The money is coming from a government owned news company. The terrorists that was responsible for the 9/11 attacks were the lunatic fringe of the Muslim religion, and came from many different countries.

Being a member of your own lunatic fringe, it would seem that you'd understand that!

I am correct. The constitution is very clear about the powers of legislation and keeping those powers from the president. Of course presidents can influence legislation and voice their agenda but it is up to someone in Congress to draft that legislation. Sandy and Batch are wrong, there is no gray area here.

In this specific case the congressman who proposed the anti-22nd amendment bill was NOT influenced by the president, in fact he has been bringing bills like this to the floor since 1997 and twice while W was in ofice.

So lets get back to what started all this. Sandy was wrong, Obama is not proposing that we reverse the 22nd amendment. Batch was wrong, the president cannot propose legislation and neither of these windbags blew a gasket and blamed W for wanting to abolish the 22nd amendment when this congressman tried to do it *twice* while W was in office.

Now about those "facts" you were talking about.....

You are digging yourself deeper Sandy. Read your Consitution, especially the part where it says the president can introduce legislation and then come back here and point out where it states that. Until then you are wrong and I am right.

Even IF you were right....lets just pretend for a sec...this congressman that introduced this legislation did so on his own. He was not instructed by Obama to do so. He was not influenced in ANY way by the president. He has been doing the same thing since 1997 (Bill Clinton, W Bush and Obama).

So knowing that, your original statement of "I did read today that perhaps Obama is considering introducing legislation to repeal the 22nd amendment." is patently and obviously either a very stupid and uninformed comment at the very best and at worst an outright lie. So, are you stupid or are you a liar?

Neither Stevie. And you are correct, it was introduced by a Congressman who HAS done it before. However, since you are rather ignorant and refuse to believe anyone but your "sources", did the NYT, or MSNBC, NBC, CBS, or ABC tell you that Obama backs the legislation?? Didn't think so, because, they like you, back it as well.
As a side note, I think it's wonderful that you, like most progressives, want to take the Constitution literally when it suits your argument, and then call it "outdated" and "unnecessary" when it doesn't. No question here, you are an arrogant, bigoted, elitist progressive. You prove it every single day.
