Did you happen to read the "Gas Prices 101" section?

The price of crude goes up, the price at the pump goes up.

http://www.michigangasprices.com/Crude_Chart....

The second factor would come under Economics 101; if a business knows demand is going to increase, they raise prices to take advantage of the situation.

It's greed and of course, it's Bush's fault for being alive.

Thank you for showing the blight on your character. Not to mention the depth of your "101" analysis to my question... simply amazing!

Because.....you don't understand economics? Business? Graphs? Please explain how linking to the graph on the site originally provided shows a "blight on my character"

Please reference the post that provided greater explanation?

Looking forward to your reply.

Being I do consider myself rather adept within my knowledge of economics, I suppose I was looking for more than basic opinions and relative common (media generated) explanations with my question concerning fuel prices. Over the years, my experiences on this forum have obviously tainted my "off the cuff" reasoning to the point of sometimes making quick and wrongful assumptions. A blight on my character.

I do sincerely apologize.

No problem. I think that the reasons for the change in fuel prices are many and varied, from the price of crude to the local operator. Unfortunately many folks look for simple answers that don't exist and when they can't have a simple answer, they look for a scapegoat. When someone mentions the "greedy business/owners" or in the case of oil, the "evil speculators" I know they don't really understand economics or business.

Several years ago I lived in the Cincinnati area and the price of gas would change multiple times during the same day. That was hard to understand. It would be one price in the morning, go down by lunch and then back up by the evening. Found out it was the local operator who would change the price down after the morning rush to gain a few extra customers from the station across the street, then raise it back up for the folks coming home. Overall the price would fluctuate ten cents during the day.

Between the big signs stations use to advertise the price and things like gasbuddy.com , it's hard for a station to significantly get their prices out of line.

While I don't think Obama cares that much about the poor, I also don't buy the "our kids are starving" bit. Try coming up with real arguments against the President, after all there are so many to choose from that you don't need to make stuff up.
