It's called the Internet.

People get to be anonymous so they act like they can say what they want and it doesn't matter what may or may not happen

I worked with Suzanne for many years.
She is one of the kindest people I know.
We all have our bad days .... she gets to have them publicly.

As for Larry - he is the most ethical, honest person and I sure want his family to stay around Grand Rapids - they love this community and we love them.

I've met Suzanne a couple of times and she seemed very nice. I'm not going to judge her by this comment or that comment from a friend of a friend who heard that she ... please just grow up!

Even if you had first-hand experience with her, you may have just seen her on a bad day, and goodness knows we have all had those! It wouldn’t matter if you were a local television personality or Fred from the grocery store, we all have had a day or two like that. I'd hate to be remembered for what I did or said on a bad day!

I love Larry - I'm going to miss him!

FWIW, my son when he was in the 8th grade wanted to be a meteorologist.

I emailed Terri DeBoer about his desire.

She not only replied, she made arrangements for him and I to come down to the station, watch a telecast, showed him where the information comes from, gave him some great information about schools, etc, how she got started, etc.

She was kind and gracious, and my son was 10 feet off the ground for years.

And what if someone else did this - someone who isn't a tv personality?
In the 3 years I worked there, she was the only one that acted like it was her right to keep us there late. In the off chance someone came in and they saw that the rest of the mall was closing, they would quickly make a decision and pay within a few minutes.

They certainly never acted like they were shopping in the middle of the day.

I am the one who earlier did a post about Suzanne's husbands company Merpi (video) Productions and wondering if WoodTV8 uses them, and pays his company millions each year for services? The relationship (if there is one) would definately have a difference as to whether Suzanne kept her job or not. Lets for example say they do use her husband's video company, and it's costs Woodtv8 millions each year, and he does business with hundreds of other companies each year and has for 20 years. That would make them both extremely wealthy people in this town, and those kinds of people have power. Power is job security. Suzanne may be the head cheese at Woodtv8 and her and her husband could own half the station for all we know? I think she does a great job myself. But for those that are wondering why she is still there and not fired by now, I hope this thread may shed some light on the possibility that a strong financial relationship with her and the station may exist that we dont know about. She may even volunteer her time down there for tax purposes? I wish Suzanne and her station luck, been watching them exclusively since the Buck (Chester) Barry days.

I always thought she looked like the "Chicken Lady", or a very close relation to Beavis.

Just because it hasn't happened to you yet, doesn't mean it couldn't or wouldn't. I stand by my statement that your experience is no reason for her to be fired. Her being a b*tch has nothing to do with her ability to relay the news.

You noticed that, too? I always thought Brian looked nervous, like a kid about to ask a girl out for the first time. He seemed to blush a lot, also.

OK, enough already. This is rubbish. All you seem to post is second hand information that is not true. She seems passionate about the news. You are just jealous that you have no class. This crap goes on at WZZM as well. Get a life!
How do you know it's "rubbish"? I've met Tom VanHowe twice and he was a royal j*rk both times.

You sound like the one without class.

Today is the first day I have read this comment section, and I must say I am very disappointed in the lack of civility people have shown. Just because you are anonymous, doesn't mean you should act like ingrates. If in fact you treat everyone you don't care for, or disagree with like you have treated Ms. Geha on this message board, God help you. Has common decency gone out of style? What is wrong with you people? I would suggest anger management classes at the least, and extensive counseling is probably in order. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but why such venom? Someone please enlighten me. Thanks
What, are you new to blogging then? Stay away from Freeper and HuffPo then. Better yet, stay off the computer altogether.

Nothing, really. This started with the original announcement that Larry was being let go/contract not renewed. Other people started chiming in on who they thought should have been let go instead, Suzy being at the top of the list.

If I e-mailed Terrie Deboer about my desire I would go to jail.

To put it nicely, she STINKS! But I guess that is par for WOODTV... they get rid of the pros and keep the dead wood. It's not about wishing the demise of anyones job.... it comes down to her lack of professionalizm in the media industry. It appears that she is not well liked my a majority of viewers.

No. It appears that she is not well liked by a majority of folks on Topix. Big difference. My parents don't mind her, but they don't have a computer. Lots of people watch News 8 but don't participate on Topix. Probably for fear they'd lose their sanity...
