So was it the gun that killed the firefighters, or the person using it?

Just another worn out NRA reply to cover the lax laws that allow convicted felons and the insane to get their hands on a gun.

Nobody cares if it was the chicken or the egg that got here first, and nobody cares about this question either!

More importantly, who didn't follow the law by selling a convicted felon three different guns!

Only the whiny would consider a tool is a weapon..... Unless you think our military should send our troops into battle armed with nothing but hammers!

Try growing up and addressing the actual problem without resorting to the same old tired BS arguments.

After your messiah sends us off the fiscal cliff and our military gets cut 50% they will be lucky to have a hammer. Now take guns from citizens and the US is ripe for a Islamist take over.

Suppose laws against shop-lifting deter more people than already do from just walk out of a store with whatever they want without paying for it? Suppose speed limit laws don't deter some people from driving as fast as they want to wherever they want to? Suppose if there were no laws to take a driving course to get a license; renew drivers licenses the same number of people who now do would just continue to? suppose laws against drunk driving don't deter more from driving drunk than do? You live in an alternate universe if believing laws don't deter more and cause more to follow laws for fear of the consequences.

Are there people who don't follow laws? Yes. But if there were no laws it wouldn't be utter chaos? Even for those who believe they have absolute rights?

Yes the Second Amendment gives us the right to keep and bear arms and shall not be infringed. Though it is still hotly contested that is restricted to members of the militia. The Second Amendment does not grant us the un-infringed right to use them in any way and/or anywhere we so desire. Because we follow the "conditions" to drive a vehicle does not give us the right to drive it into a school, a church, someone else's house, etc.

Irrationality believes a right automatically means unrestricted. There are many many rights that we have that are restricted for the safety of others.

"Live in realville and stop being thick"? You're the one doing that! Unless of course you can demonstrate how you can hand throw a knife or claw hammer or a rock or a screw driver etc. 50 yards and kill someone with them.

It's just maybe you that needs to live in "realville" and start using some useful sense.

How can anyone go after the instrument used to kill someone instead of the individual who used that instrument to do the killing? Lets have some common sense!

Is she less dead because it was close range? Oh I get it, it's only a true killing when they show skills doing the killing. You are just plain clueless Jason.

Because they have nothing else. Like all the rest of the republicans when faced with the raw realities they resort to desperate deflection. And that's what keeps from any resolution. Even when the resolution could be to their advantage. When faced with fighting for all or nothing they will choose nothing every time. Just so they can blame the other guy. It happens every time.
