2 Ionia toddlers fall from window

Two children under the age of three are in the hospital after they fell from a second-story window to the sidewalk below at an apartment building in Ionia Friday.

I agree...can we add ignorant, careless, thoughtless to the list? Yes, accidents happen, but that was clearly a disaster waiting to happen and guess what...it did. I just pray the children will survive this with no ill effects.

I don't know the details of this story, I couldnt find it..but prayers for the children, I hope they survive.

I honestly think as a landlord it should be state law to make sure all houses and apt's have proper safety measures if the tenants don't comply call the police yourself. Or nail them on the windows yourself,also why didn't the person who called the police do more,and where was the mother??? Accidents happen all the time but to fall out of the window is unexecusable.God Bless

they should of put some kind of bar or a baby gate up
if she does get it for neglet and gets off shame on her if she ever puts those kids at risk again she is going to be in deep doodoo
I put latch hooks on my windows so my cat don't fall out he is going to unlatch them but a child would baby gate or something to let fresh air in and nothing out

no, we do not know the mother; BUT we do KNOW the childrens' ages AND that the Landlord had ORDERED, SEVERAL TIMES, that they PUT THE SCREENS BACK IN THE WINDOW; Thus, we KNOW that this was not a 'turned my back for a second and they pushed the screen out'

So rval that would mean that they didn't live there so how would they know about the screens? Think on that for a minute or two sweetums.:)

Let me guess, it was their first time there? Did they NOT have the knowledge that the screens weren't there?? Didn't someone also comment that people sat in the window all the time??

I believe as a parent that you are responsable for your children. If you live in a second story apartment or house its you as a parent to make sure your children are safe. And it makes it worse when the landlord had ordered several times to put the screens back in and the parents ignore talk about stupid. And to Max Champlin as a parent my childrens safety was first priority raising 3 children as single mom. Also with this happening so OFTEN AND IN THE NEWS, you would think that it would cross her mind to do something like putting the screens in. And as far as me sitting here on my fat ares, you had to sit on your ares to type too.
